Welcome to the eleventh show of A Darker Wave Extra, our brand new format of occasional shows presented by Jacki-E & P-Mac, with a one hour mix by the show's presenters in the first half featuring the latest and best of the new techno releases and a guest mix by leading underground Techno DJs in the second.

In our mix in the first hour there’s new releases from Kasia & Charles D, Massano & Tone Depth, HI-LO, Roxy Nox and lots more.

The guest mix in the 2nd hr is by Manija, born in Argentina and now based in Mallorca. His DJ journey Started in Auckland, where he co-founded Hacienda New Zealand, an event series dedicated to growing the local techno scene and paying tribute to the legendary Hacienda raves of Manchester in the '80s and '90s. Manija is taking Mallorca’s nightlife by storm and sharing his sound through "Balearic Sessions", a monthly show that captures the essence of his Mediterranean Journey. His style moves between trance and techno, blending touching melodies with a driving rumble and heavy drums. His sets are immersive journeys where listeners get lost in his storytelling.

Michael B

Michael est un DJ, producteur et remixeur né mi-décembre 1987, à l'époque où les happy hours commencent généralement. Un détail curieux qui suggère déjà un penchant naturel pour l'ambiance et le rythme. Depuis son enfance, la musique l'attirait irrésistiblement, même si son rêve d'enfant était tout autre : programmer des jeux vidéo. Puis le destin a décidé de l'accompagner sous la forme d'une boîte de céréales. À l'intérieur se trouvait un logiciel simple de création de musique électronique, un cadeau inattendu qui allait changer son avenir à jamais. De ce moment est née une passion incroyable pour la musique, nourrie avec détermination par des cours, des livres et d'innombrables tutoriels vidéo en ligne.

Au fil des ans, Michael s'est fait un nom sur la scène musicale en participant et en remportant plusieurs concours, dont le concours Emerging 2013, le concours B&M Remix et le titre de « Chanson du mois » sur Musicadigitale.net.

Ces succès l'ont conduit à signer cinq contrats d'enregistrement avec différents labels : Dem Digital à Milan, Double Inc Records et Europe Dance Records à Pérouse, Fly Beat Dance Records à Cagliari et Alveda Music à Thessalonique. Sa musique est depuis distribuée dans le monde entier, en format numérique et physique.

Mais le parcours de Michael ne s'est pas limité à la production musicale. En 2007, il s'est lancé comme DJ, faisant ses premiers pas lors d'événements locaux et régionaux. Sa sélection musicale raffinée et captivante l'a amené à collaborer avec de nombreuses stations de radio, FM et en ligne, à travers l'Europe et au-delà, de Pioneer DJ Radio à Ibiza à Kiss FM Australia à Melbourne, en passant par Xanadú Radio à Tenerife et Eurobeat Radio à Londres.

En 2016, il a choisi de quitter son activité de DJ freelance pour se consacrer à la radio, un média qui lui permet d'entrer en contact direct avec les auditeurs et de partager sa vision musicale plus largement. C'est ainsi qu'est né B-Tronic, un podcast hebdomadaire diffusé chaque samedi sur In Progress Radio à Amsterdam. Dans son émission, Michael sélectionne avec soin les meilleures nouveautés techno et house progressive, offrant un aperçu constamment actualisé des tendances les plus intéressantes de la scène électronique.

En 2024, grâce à l'un de ses sets diffusés dans le podcast Space Monkeys UK, il a atteint la première place du classement techno de Mixcloud, l'une des plateformes de streaming DJ les plus importantes au monde, une étape qu'il qualifie encore de surréaliste. La même année, il a également contribué activement à la scène locale en collaborant avec la municipalité de sa ville natale pour créer et animer une formation de DJ, partageant ainsi sa passion et ses connaissances avec la jeune génération. Toujours en 2024, il a lancé une nouvelle rubrique intitulée « Il Covo dei DJ », où il partage des anecdotes, des profils d'artistes et des actualités sur le monde de la musique électronique.
