Factory Floor - "Dial Me In"

It’s only been a few months since Earth Boys touched down with their debut EP on 1080p, Welcome 2 Earth, and their second release will be out via 2MR on June 3rd. Feel The Rhythm showcases their production skills, and features a deeper, all-encompassing groove that fills yours brain and moves your body. More than anything, Earth Boys’ music is about having a good time.

The duo is Julian from the Sisterjam collective in Brooklyn, and Michael Sherburn from ground-breaking New York techno live act DUST. Each track is constructed in a deep haze - vintage house, smooth jazz and breakbeats - and compiles moody vocals and analog gear to create their signature, tongue-in-cheek sound. While the first EP on 1080p delivered a range of upbeat melodies and catchy hooks, Feel The Rhythm explores a low-end, hypnotic vibe throughout all five tracks. The title track gets an internal rework at the end, with “Feel The Rhythm (Dark Room Mix)” evoking chill-inducing bass beats that nod back to some of Detroit’s most influential underground moments. On the lighter side is “You Were Mine,” with uplifting syncopation, but still as thick and engaging as the heavier tunes on this EP.

Known for their eclectic DJ sets and regular parties at the infamous Bossa Nova Civic Club, Earth Boys are quickly climbing ahead. Feel The Rhythm is not just a title, it’s a command.

The noise echoed in the empty chamber. The room was lined with metallic plates and the sound bounced in expansive chaos as the walls rattled. The light glowed a pale, glistening, medicinal white and the foghorn of a speaker continued to blare the same tune repetitively. Men marched asleep to the sound of a kick which banged and banged. Then all of a sudden there was a change, a melody, a twist of fate within a space which had once been so cold. 

Anthony Fade are an Australian duo with a sense of purpose. Having previously released on Tomahawk, Lost Palms and House Crime they now feature on Shall Not Fade accompanied by a legend in the form of Andres. He steps up to remix "Same Tune".

Fine label co-founder Tilman continues to deliver infectious and soulful house cuts with his latest venture landing on Inhale Exhale Germany via a split EP with Kevin Over aptly titled 'Split'. Here Tilman unveils more of his expert skill and creativity using samples by producing a gripping house cut titled 'FFYS' that prompts a sense of nostalgia with a lush melody over a steady house beat. It's this unique approach that has Tilman's catalogue of releases on fire in recent history and he's proving to be at the top of his game once again. 

The 'Split' EP, featuring three tracks from both Kevin Over and Tilman, is out soon.
