Both utilizing our respective modular rigs, mine being 5U and John on a mix of Blacet and Euro, hence the moniker 33 U being the combo of our respective racks. More to come soon.

33 U

This is a sample from some new recordings. I have an Ian Fritz ChaQuo running into the linear FM inputs on my Buchla 258 DWG clone. The outputs form the 258 are running through ring modulators with the y carrier fed from two Dot Com Oscillators. The CoSine from the ChaQuo is running into a Lo Pass Gate that is being pingged from a MFOS VCS/H into an Oakley COTA VCF. Bandpass out form the COTA is running into a Dot Com SVF with the notch patched back into the filter input and the Hi Pass heading to the final mixer on one side. The -24db Low Pass from the COTA is running to the final out on the other side. The Q106's are being cross modulated with the Pulse waves into the Lin FM Inputs and also Exp FM'ed from a SSL Tap Tempo LFO.There is also a MegaOhm Dual LFO as a modulation source along with a second S/H being fed white noise, which is modulating the FREQ on the MFOS VCS/H. There is also some processed field recordings.

Orbless Live 05272012

"Composition for Synthesizer, Voice and Ice" (2012) was created as a visual response to the Paul Kos piece "The Sound of Ice Melting" (1970) which was on display at the Berkeley Art Museum as part of the touring exhibition "State of Mind: New California Art since 1970". The piece was debuted at the Berekely Art Museum April 15 2012. A separate stereo version was also featured as part of Dog Star Orchestra 8, arranged by American composer Michael Pisaro.
Composed with modular synthesizer, processed vocals and processed phonography.
This is a stereo version of the piece which in it's original form is meant to be presented in a quadraphonic environment.

Partial recording of a live set from Liminal Space on June 3rd 2012.
This was for a live taping of E.S.P. TV, operated by Victoria Keddie and Scott Kiernan.
Also performing were Chris Duncan, Pod Blotz and Uncanny Valley.
