For this next song we went to Granada, this lavish city – surely the most sensuous  in the … northern hemisphere we lost Ben several times to the city’s charm including on our way back to the airport and nearly never got away.  Thanks to Bettina and Juli Marconi for their inspiration and oh-so-Spanish guitar and special hi to Liz and Andrew Scattergood who are still there.

The Cheek Of The Night

A song about when things in the head don’t add up.  As the man said: nobody in Ireland today is more than a first cousin or class mate away from serious mental health issues.   These heroes suffer so much and often silently and wake up again and again at square one.  Those who love them go through similar pain.  For us an answer lies in the third verse of this song and our prayer is that ye all find your own solution somehow and never give up the fight.

This song, Islandman, is inspired bu Beginis - an abandoned island plumb in the middle of Valentia Harbour at the tip of the Iveragh peninsula.  White-sand beaches, cliffs, micro forests, brown seals and white white waves abound it is truly a stunning place why not pop over if visiting south-west Kerry – the boat men from Valentia will bring you there and back again.

Islandman is for someone who loves Beginis but who I love more.

I would like to dedicate the album to my mammy & my daddy To and Mo Walsh, without whose unconditional love I would never have had the strength to even begin.
