Patch notes:

A mix of hardware and software was used to make this song including a eurorack modular synthesizer, a classic Roland Juno 106 analog polyphonic synthesizer, as well as software synthesizers and a DAW. You can see some of the studio process on our Instagram

Pads were created with Native Instruments and Ableton. We used by two evolving layers of Absynth with a third layer created by running a fast arpeggio into a huge reverb patch created with Reaktor Space Master 2.

Mutable Instruments Rings is sequenced by Make Noise René in pendulum mode. This has the effect of putting the piece in 15/8 time signature. We had to learn to count this out to play the shaker by hand. Its counted (1).2.3.(2).2.3.(3).2.3.(4).2.3.(5).2.3

The bass is an Intellijel Dixie oscillator modulated by Maths to create some wonky vibrato. It's run through the Bubblesound SEM20 filter and a VCA.

Percussion was programmed in iZotope Breaktweaker.

Colorful Language is the NJ-based DJ/producer duo of Josh Doubles and Thomas Hildebrand, known for weaving deep house and techno into immersive, emotionally resonant sets. Their sound lives in the tension between exhilarating and heartfelt, blending analog textures, hardware experimentation, and percussive found sounds.

Their closing set at Groove Together fused house and techno with expressive storytelling, creating an experience that enchanted the crowd. The duo’s give-and-take synergy and genre-fluid ethos reflect an evolution from their DIY party roots into an act capable of both opening sun-soaked rooftops and closing peak-hour clubs. They take you on a journey, and before you know it, you’re lost in dancing with no end in sight.
