Coloring Lessons now takes on new life, in the form of a label, with a compilation featuring all of your favorite artists from NYC and beyond.

The compilation features new music from various heavy-hitters from their dance music community, including a new house jam from Kai Alce, a cinematic piece by Levon Vincent, hard techno from White Material’s Young Male, lush vocals from Jenifa Mayanja, the debut track from Love Injection co-founder Barbie Bertisch, new gospel from Coloring Lessons founders, musclecars, and much, much more.

musclecars, composed of Craig Handfield & Brandon Weems, are staples in NYC’s House scene and beyond, through their party-turned-label Coloring Lessons, effervescent sets on The Lot Radio, and increasingly acclaimed productions. Following a series of releases on both their Coloring Lessons and toucan sounds, their newest offering, ‘Shelter (Building It, Still)’ burrows deeper into their love of grooving, soulful sounds, featuring a remix from Prescription co-founder Ron Trent.

Opening the release, ‘Prelude (Building It, Still) sees the duo combine gorgeous piano licks and intimate field recordings for a moving start to the EP. ‘Shelter’, which features vocalist and previous collaborator Brandon Markell Holmes follows, brings together propulsive synths and knocking drum work alongside Holmes’ captivating vocal performance.

‘We Go Home Together’ is a slab of beautiful deep house, bringing emotive saxophones, shuffling drums, and dreamlike pads together effortlessly for over seven blissful minutes. Closing out the EP is Ron Trent’s energetic remix of ‘Shelter’, which sees the veteran inject bouncing basslines, swinging percussion, and an evolving arrangement to the original track.

Herb's Dj & Music career spans over 3 decades. He has played at clubs, Loft-Parties & special events all over NYC. He began playing abroad in 2004 & has been touring Japan annually since 2008. His experiences clubbing in  NYC at legendary hotspots the likes of the Paradise Garage, Danceteria, the Roxy & The Shelter inform his diverging musical acumen. He counts  Djs Larry Levan, GrandMaster Flash, Timmy Regisford, along with his  musical up-bringing and Bronx/Caribbean roots  as influencing his Soulful, Poly-Rhythmatic, Master-mixing style. He’s held residencies at: Together In Spirit, Frank's Lounge & other NYC hotspots,  and along with Dj Kim Lightfoot, founded the legendary underground party: AMADI at Ray Hands Loft-A in Brooklyn NY.  Most recently he has joined the Love & Respect family.

Kat Wang, also known as Kat Offline, is a Chinese-American chef and DJ based in NYC. Alongside her collective, she has hosted and performed at various clubs in the city such as Mood Ring, Bossa Nova Civic Club, Elsewhere, and Jupiter Disco with regular shows at The Lot Radio. She is a co-founder of the NYC based DJ collective Misschief. Kat is deeply drawn to a mixture of melodic and percussive in her sets, running the gamut of jungle, house, acid, Detroit techno, and UK garage— seeking to bring her listeners to a transcendent, adrenaline-fueled place.

Misschief Collective is a DJ collective based in NYC founded in 2017. As a group of artists and musicians of marginalized genders, their mission is to bring diversity to lineups in a predominantly cis-white male dance music underground. They care deeply about expressing freedom through diasporic soundscapes and facilitating communal joy. They are a diverse group of selectors brought together by the love for music and one another.

Coloring Lessons Mix Series 037: Kat Offline (Misschief Collective)

Kourtney, aka Rose Kourts, is a Brooklyn-based DJ, party-starter, and dance floor fixture hailing from North Carolina. She’s made a name for herself with her dynamic sets and the infectious energy she brings to her performances. She plays from the heart, encouraging listeners and dancers to go on a journey of movement, connection, and emotional release through her signature blend of crunchy, funky, groovy, hype, and hypnotic selections. 

She can regularly be found setting off Brooklyn’s dance floors - performing alongside luminaries in house and techno, throwing events, collaborating with fellow local artists, and putting out label and radio mixes. She is a co-founder and resident of Sweet Kicks, a community-focused DIY party with sounds straddling house and rave, and of In Bloom, which centers around the joy of blooming forth on a pulsing dance floor. Additionally, she is the mastermind behind a NOW compilation-inspired party of feel-good music that brings unpretentious, nostalgic favorites to the club.

There is a certain type of artist that transcends generational and artistic boundaries, that channels their experiences while simultaneously fostering an environment for others to thrive.

Kai Alcé is a prime example, someone who witnessed the genesis of Detroit’s electronic musical landscape and strives to keep that spirit alive. For him it is imperative to pass on the lessons he has learned, to create a space where deep soulful vibes can reverberate while honoring the African Diaspora roots of dance music’s culture.

NDATL stands for the cities that Kai has called home and have played a role in his musical development: New York, Detroit, ATLanta.
The label and production company reflects the tone of each city in its input to the electronic music canon. It has not only been a vehicle for his own productions but a home for releases from contemporaries, personal heroes and up-and-coming artists such as Javonntte, ED Nine & Roberta. Never one to be content with the status quo, Kai’s dedication to the underground combined with his warm demeanor has made him a mentor to young Atlanta based artists such as Ash Lauryn, Stefan Ringer and Byron the Aquarius.

Kai’s long running party at The Sound Table, Distinctive, would act as a hub for house music over the last decade and put him in touch with the local youth. Concurrently it was his annual party back in Detroit that would become a Mecca for househeads. Deep Detroit is known for being one of the go to events for Memorial Day weekend electronic music festival Movement. What started as a reunion party for the Music Institute has become a pilgrimage and right of passage where the devoted can purchase highly coveted, limited edition vinyl-only releases from the party’s musical guests.

Never one to stay static he has recently curated a limited run of 7” House tracks with DJ Spinna for BBE Music and even stepped into the world of fashion. Kai has always been known for his vibrant fashion, consistently being complimented on his stylish glasses that match his outfits. Years of people inquiring about obtaining similar spectacles has resulted in the boutique Kai Alcé Eyewear line. “The Kaizer” never stops moving. A love of life, mixed with his flair for originality, willingness to experiment and devotion to the dancefloor has cemented his place as a pillar in American dance music history. Whatever comes next from Mr. Alcé, you can be assured that it will be classy, soulful, fulfilling and funky.

Coloring Lessons Mix Series 048: Kai Alce

Eli Goldstein’s career spans 20+ years on the decks and beyond.  Best known as half of EFUNK purveyors SOUL CLAP, Eli wears many hats in the music universe.  He runs SOUL CLAP RECORDS, one of Mixmag’s 10 most influential disco labels of the last decade.  He hosts a monthly radio show on New York City’s THE LOT RADIO.  He’s one of the founders of BLACK FLAMINGO, a plant based taqueria and discotheque in Brooklyn.  And he spins eclectic, vinyl oriented sets and curates a 7” record series called HOUSE ON 45.

Through it all, Eli’s mission has been to share music that feels like the past, but sounds like the future.  Music that makes you move your body and feel something in your soul.  But music is not always enough, and Eli strives to make a positive impact on the world around him by working with DJS 4 CLIMATE ACTION to support the earth, is currently working towards an M.S. in Climate Science and Policy at Bard College’s Center For Environmental Policy, and working as a researcher at A GREENER FESTIVAL. He also works with GIVE A BEAT to promote social justice and THE LOOPLAB to empower Womxn and People of Color in the media arts.

Based in Seoul, Jesse You's ever-expanding palette spans from house, to techno, to trance, to disco, to downtempo,
as he concentrates on mixing it all at the right moment with the right mood. Jesse has played at the first Boiler Room Seoul in 2016, and he appeared on various notable stages such as Wonderfruit Festival(TH), Savage(VN), Red Light Radio(NL), Spectrum Formosus Festival(TW), and more.

As a producer, his debut single called ‘Bamboozle’ was released on Honey Badger Records’ compilation series 'HBRTRX Vol. 4' in 2021. Then, following tracks such as ‘Palm Room’ for compilation 88 -
Double Happiness Vol. 5 and also ‘Froggy '93’ for NUGNET’s compilation, powered by the label Limousine Dream was released in 2022. 

Last but not least, Jesse co-runs new independent label called Walls and Pals and showcased 2nd and 3rd catalog series [Pals FM: Floor Materials] compilation, also including his original work ‘Silly and Bright’.

Rob Manga is one of the longest running selectors from Amsterdam. His fundamentals were set in the 90’s and early 00’s, where he played at numerous legendary venues and parties. His multi genre approach in his dj sets stems from an era of musical culture and wisdom. His roots can be felt in a broad influence of raw soulful music. Rob also partnered up with many national and international artists. As an artist he is well respected in the club and dancing community worldwide. He had appearances at stapled events like Berghain Panorama Bar, ‘’Milkshake Festival’’, ‘’Lowlands’’, ‘’Pride Amsterdam’’ “IsBurning Amsterdam, “Paradiso Amsterdam and ‘’Glitterbox’’. Coloring Lessons Mix Series 060: Rob Manga

Ocean People stands for a lifetime of musical exploration – and a pandemic reinvention.

Growing up far north in Helsinki, Sampo aka Ocean People fell in love with hip hop and DJing at the age of 13. A decade later, as DJ Anonymous, he was sharing bills with De La Soul, The Roots & Common. He was also traveling to play cities across Europe. Tours later extended to Asia & North America – first NYC booking was at beloved & long-gone APT.

A childhood spent with hip hop stimulated a voracious appetite for adjacent sounds. By 2000, Sampo had partnered with friends to start Lifesaver, a specialist record shop. It was popular with locals and visitors alike. J-Dilla, Moodymann and countless others all dropped some hard-earned €€€ there.
He was also falling deeper in love with disco, house and their intercontinental variants. This was a personal revelation, as it led to a full appreciation of collective dance floor joy. It is also the origin story of Ocean People.

The idea existed dormant for years, as Sampo focused on business outside the DJ realm. In the isolation of the pandemic, inspiration struck hard. This resulted in a new course of musical action, under a new pseudonym.

Since then, Ocean People has built a shared home base called HRD Underground Workshop. It's a purpose-built IRL space that explores co-operative action and high-fidelity sound. HRD also streams curated live recordings on its Soundcloud platform.
In the booth, Ocean People aspires to always deliver timeless, emotive dance music, weaved into expansive narrative arches. No matter the setting, collective joy remains the singular goal.

Coloring Lessons Mix Series 061: Ocean People

With exceptional DJ skills, music production talent, and a knack for extraordinary events, DJ Said has dedicated himself to music for nearly three decades. Growing up with his family’s record collection and influences from his global travels, Said has crafted his own unique underground sound. His influences range from Afrobeat, Highlife Jazz, Disco, and the other global sounds he absorbed during his formative years in Lagos.  In the mid 80’s, Said was immersed in the London underground parties gaining firsthand experience of the scene.  Said went on to launch his Fatsouls Productions imprint in San Francisco in 1999.  His monthly Atmosfere events which features world-class artists helped revolutionized the San Francisco nightlife scene.  His extensive discography includes releases on his own Fatsouls Records, Wave Music, Ibadan Records and Chez Music to name a few.  Said’s contributions to music and art have earned him recognition worldwide.

Pew Fellowship recipient, King James Britt (his real name) is a 30+ year, producer, composer, performer and educator in electronic music. As a composer and producer, his practice has lead to collaborations with the likes of De La Soul, Alarm Will Sound Orchestra, Saul Williams, director Michael Mann (Miami Vice) and many others, as well as being called for remixes from an eclectic list of giants, including, Meredith Monk, Solange to Calvin Harris. Most recently collaborating with MacArthur Fellow, Tyshawn Sorey for a recently released album project. In his role as performer, he has travelled globally playing thousands of venues and festivals, including, AfroPunk (NYC), Berghain (Berlin), MoogFest (Durham), Le Guess Who Festival (Utrecht) and The Kitchen (NYC). King was also the original DJ for the Grammy Award winning Digable Planets.
His curatorial work has been seen in many collaborations with the likes of MoMA PS1, Philadelphia Museum of Art and most recently Carnegie Hall. Blacktronika : Afrofuturism In Electronic Music, is a new lecture course at UCSD, created by Professor King Britt, researching and honoring the people of color, who have pioneered groundbreaking genres within the electronic music landscape. Genres span from Chicago House, Detroit Techno and Drum & Bass music. Using his position in the industry, the class has been attended by many, including Questlove, Julian Priester and Flying
Lotus. King remains one of the go to authorities on Afrofuturism in music.

"Ladiez Drink Free" is the dynamic trio of Mariposa, Drupe Jam, and Perna. These three Florida-raised DJ’s met in Brooklyn, immediately bonding over their passionate experiences through music and how much it means to them. Since beginning to playing collectively in 2022, their sound has become known for its eccentric vocals and hypnotic basslines, resulting in a controlled chaos that entices you. Their individual eclectic tastes find common ground in the ability to create unexpected sets that are flirtatious yet grounding, alluring yet bracing, and unpredictable as they are nostalgic. They recently began a new residency at Bossa Nova Civic Club, where they aim to deliver monthly on their motto "Great Rax, Great Trax." This mix, recorded using 2 turntables and 2 CDJ 350s, showcases their love for blending various eras of music, wandering through classic yet fresh sounds.

Mari Ella is a DJ, dancer, podcast host and all around artist originally from Vienna, Austria. A dancer and clubhead since the mid/late 90s, she moved to New York in 2004 and immersed herself into the NYC club scene and culture, and was fortunate to have been guided by members of New York’s Dance Fusion Crew early on.

Transitioning from dancer to DJ in 2018, she has since played at multiple venues in NYC, such as Public Records, Elsewhere, Jupiter Disco to name a few. Outside of New York, her blend of Deep & Soulful House as well as Soul, Funk and Disco has taken her to Dante’s Hi-Fi Miami, Portland, Houston, Philly, Denver and Detroit.

Internationally, she has played in Paris, London, Amsterdam, Zurich & Vienna & Mexico. Influenced by how DJs like Rich Medina, Spinna, Reborn, Marcellus Pittman, Theo Parrish; to name a few - control a dancefloor, her deep sound prioritizes the dancers in the dark room in front of the speaker. 

In 2022 she started her own party DEEP WATERS - a deep & soulful house music experience - in Brooklyn, NY.

In addition, she hosts and produces the podcast DANCE TO THE MUSIC, focusing on the meaning and importance of “dance” in dance music. It is available on Spotify, Apple Podcasts & YouTube.

She is currently working on her first production which she plans to release in spring 2024.

John Agesilas, born in 1970 in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, and raised in Amsterdam, is a renowned DJ, dancer, and choreographer who has significantly influenced jazz-fusion, street dance, and house culture. With a deep appreciation for African music, jazz, disco, and funk, he began his journey in dance at the age of 13, co-founding jazz dance groups that toured Europe. As a DJ, John’s sets are a vibrant mix that reflects these formative influences, captivating audiences and elevating dance floors.
Over his 38-year career, John has collaborated with global icons such as Donna Summer and Sister Sledge, producing groundbreaking performances that merge dance and music. He has played pivotal roles in brands like Nike and Adidas, creating fashion shows that showcase urban dance styles. As a co-founder of Summer Dance Forever, NightOwls, and Risk Sound System, he has become a key advocate for house music, producing hit tracks like The sound is yours, Grow. Collaborating with notable DJs like Kerry Chandler and Atjazz.
Moreover, John directs his own Hiphop Cultural Center Foundation, where he promotes education and cultural exchange through dance and music. His events, particularly the Summer Dance Forever festival, seamlessly blend dance battles with club culture and community engagement, highlighting the essential role DJs and Dancers play in cultural preservation and social change.

DJ Tracksuit, began his journey on the dancefloor, a space where he sought connection, freedom, and growth which evolved to become his second home. What started as a dancer’s love for music grew into a boundless exploration, wandering through the realms of soulful sounds, unconfined by genre, yet deeply rooted in the culture and social fabric that shape it.

Co-founders of Léman Records Leo Luscher and Wolff have been navigating between France and Switzerland for over a decade, sharing their unique take on groove and celebration. DJ MARCIA CARR

London born and raised, globe trotting music selector and tastemaker Marcia Carr, also known as Marcia DaVinylMC has been contributing to the UK dance music scene over four decades already.  She’s a stalwart, an aficionado, and a woman who’s definitely not content with sitting still.

As a DJ – in the last few years she's helds residencies at Jazz Cafe, The Cause and Soho House – her club sets weave together a plethora of sounds that pay homage to the Black roots of dance music – past, present and future.  You can find her spinning everything from house to disco, gospel, funk and dubstep, but there’s always a distinct soulfulness or jazzy touch that permeates her selections

That versatility is something she’s honed over the years from playing at venues across the world with some of the biggest names in house, Detroit techno and broken beat, on top of hosting regular broadcasts on different radio stations, including Rinse FM - alongside guest appearances on BBC 6 Music, BBC Radio 1, Reprezent, Soho Radio, Balamii - her monthly show "¡Take the Con!" on theboatpod.com draws in a diverse support of followers.

But not only will you find Marcia front of house, she also works behind the scenes helping others with their own musical endeavours.   

Marcia is currently receiving much interest for her joint compilation album project 'Soul Damn Funky' Vol. 2, a release with Brighton's Russell Ruckman.   

As well as being a music journalist and independent consultant, she also runs music PR and artist agency, Talking Music Productions, and is the founder of Girlz B Like – a vinyl-only platform held at Grow, its home in Hackney Wick that spotlights women selectors and DJs - celebrating their tenth birthday in the autumn of  2025, with the release of a debut, limited edition 7-inch vinyl release to mark the milestone.

A Dublin native who now calls Berlin home, Adam brings a diverse musical background to his performances. From being raised on everything from classical and choral music to blues, jazz, and soul, Adam's musical upbringing was a melting pot of influences from both sides of the family.

Before taking to Radio and DJing, Adam predominantly performed in various bands In Ireland. As a drummer and bass player, percussive rhythms and grooves are the essence of his playing and selections. This foundation in live music results in sets that are unique and filled with a blend of live and instruments and electronic sounds guaranteed to move you.

As the host of HotWHeels on Refuge Worldwide and founder of a throwing Shapes, a Berlin based record club and non-profit party series, Adam curates shows and events that are designed with the purpose of informing, connecting people and telling stories through music.

West African in heritage, Naarm (Melbourne)-based Zjoso has quickly become an essential thread weaving through the city’s musical tapestry.

He is the founder of Tribqu, a platform celebrating underground music and culture. At the helm, he has successfully carved out a distinct role as a DJ, radio host, and curator. His monthly radio program on Skylab has become a cult favorite, while his dance events cultivate a space where music is not driven by a specific genre, but rather by a feeling and an exploration of sound and movement. Tribqu has energized a community movement of like-minded music lovers.

An accomplished and versatile DJ, Zjoso explores his love for soulful music across a broad spectrum. In a relatively short time, he has asserted himself as a prominent figure on Naarm’s clubbing circuit, with a discerning taste that touches on sounds like Street Soul, Dub Reggae, 90s House, Broken Beat and Detroit Techno. 

He navigates both dance floors and radio frequencies with perceptive ability and a sharp skill set. The recherché selector’s recognition is evident through invitations to share the stage with the likes of Ron Trent, Glenn Underground, Marcellus Pittman, Errol (Touching Bass), Hagan, Shy One, Bradley Zero (Rhythm Section), Ruby Savage, Steve Spacek, and Dreamcastmoe.

Having toured across Europe, South East Asia and New Zealand, Zjoso has played at parties and venues such as Rhythm Section, Secret Sundaze, Potato Head (Bali), Beam Cube and Friendly Potential. He has also played Australian and UK festivals such as Golden Plains Sun Cycle, Freedom Time, Hopkins Creek, Echo Beach, Strawberry Fields, Mode, Pitch Music and Arts Festival.

A love for dancing, a passion for discovering and sharing music, and an inherent motivation to bring people together through these forms serve as the foundation for Zjoso’s creative focus. He is a vibrant voice helping to define the shape of Australian dance culture.

IMMI BAKES, a German-Nigerian DJ based in Stuttgart, southern Germany, has been shaping her own musical path for the past three years. Though still early in her journey, she has already brought her distinctive style to the decks in Paris, most notably at the legendary soulful club DJOON. With a wide range of musical influences from Soul and Disco to Jazz, Hip-Hop, Afrobeat, Highlife and Drum & Bass, she has found her true passion in House Music.

A passionate digger with a keen ear for grooves, IMMI is always searching for the new within the old, creating a unique listening experience. Her musical style blends soulful, groovy vibes with a generous dose of Funk and Afro rhythms. Inspired by the golden ’90s and subgenres such as Classic, Soulful & Deep House, Garage, as well as Electro Samba, Afro & Latin, she delivers a sound that promises an uplifting musical journey. The result is pure food for the soul and heart – “always baked with love,” as she likes to say.

Ever since the early formative years of immersing himself in raves and secret house parties during his uni years in Australia, Dean Chew aka Funk Bast*rd has been on the musical journey as for long as he can remember. He has cut his teeth playing in the legendary Zouk club / Velvet Underground in Singapore since the early 2010s and has grown a robust community around his Darker Than Wax parties and activations around the island. Together with co-founder Kaye, the duo have been tirelessly pushing and promoting an alternative expression of leftfield music through the label, as well as recruiting like-minded souls to join in their cause. 

Being the main A+R and creative mind behind DTW, the label has flourished tremendously over the past 5 years, cementing its place as one of the go-to labels out of South East Asia. During this period, Dean has also ventured further afield, establishing links internationally and regionally, and played most recently at We Out Here festival in the UK, HÖR radio, Le Sucre in Lyon, Potatohead Bali, Dimensions Festival in Croatia, various cities in Europe, Asia, and Brazil.

In 2016, he was also invited on Jamz Supernova’s BBC 1XTRA show to do a special label showcase, Rinse RM, and swung through the legendary Brownswood basement of Gilles Peterson for a 2-hour exclusive Worldwide FM mix. His extensive musical knowledge and tight mixing skills has earned him a regular spot on the station, and has proven to be one of the most trusted selectors and Djs  to have emerged from the South East Asian circuit.

It’s no surprise then that he has played alongside and supported some of the world’s finest like Benji B, Kyle Hall, Lefto, HAAI, Dreamcast Moe, Gerd Janson, Basic Soul Unit, Linkwood, Norman Jay, Souleance, Pearson Sound, Krystal Klear, Tiger and Woods, the late great Mike Huckaby, Seven Davis Jnr, Dj Ez, Fourtet and Dam Funk. 

During the lockdown in Singapore, Dean has also worked on 2 volumes of the successful 12” series “Bodyclock” which focuses on lesser known artists in the house, boogie and deep techno realms. The series have garnered support from the likes of Resident Advisor, Bandcamp Weekly, BBC Radio 6 and many more. More recently, he has also conceptualised his own venue, and through 2 years of planning and hard work, Dean finally opened Offtrack - a music-centric bar and restaurant in Singapore. The bar in a short span of a year, has not only secured a 50 best discovery list mention, but is also fast becoming known as an essential beacon for the community and traveling selectors to play when they visit Singapore. 
Constantly evolving and engaging through the power of music is what defines Dean Chew as an artist and most importantly as a human being.

DJ Dámelo is a Peruvian-born, Brooklyn-based DJ whose sound is rooted in a lifelong love for fast, percussive, body-moving rhythms. Growing up in Newark during the rise of Jersey Club and lasting legacy of Club Zanzibar while surrounded by latin sounds at home, he developed an early ear for uptempo energy and soulful, vocal-driven music that continues to guide his selections today.

His sets are journeys through cultures and tempos, blending house, tribal techno and global rhythm-driven selections. With an instinct for storytelling honed over a decade as a filmmaker, Dámelo crafts experiences that transport listeners through time and space with his high-energy, deeply curated mixes.

Do U Remember House is a four-member dj collective from Helsinki emerging from various backgrounds in music, dance and arts. Having met in the Finnish ballroom scene they quickly figured out their common passion for house music which started their journey together as a collective. Formed in 2022, their mission was to spread the joyous message of classic house music, feeling freedom in movement on the dance floor and a goal to bring people together from all backgrounds of life. 
Suva is a full time singer, dj, musician and a radio host, Maua is a photographer, Deep Kat is a marketing manager for fashion brands and OxPaha is an illustration agent and living in Sicily this winter.

Now in just three years, they’ve shared the decks with dj legends such as Tama Sumo and Lakuti, Marcia Carr and Toribio, performed in many local clubs and festivals like Flow Festival, Visio Festival, Ääniwalli, Tanner, were resident dj’s of 2024 in Helsinki’s famous club Kaiku, performed in a music festival in Belgium, have created a Sunday dance party concept called Luv Dancin and also have their signature radio show in a communal radio station Idaradio.

This three hour mix from Suva, Maua and Deep Kat is a journey from self exploration to bodily release with vibrant emotions, releasing all that has to be shed.

DJ Suva is opening this mixtape with a soft and sensual journey, designed to gently draw you in. This first hour moves through vulnerability, tenderness, and self-love — a quiet space where rhythms breathe and emotions unfold slowly. Hour two with Maua stays locked in on the bass, then opens up into pure pleasure. High-energy grooves loosen into warm, feel-good moments, all body. On the last hour Deep Kat expresses her love for the deeper tones of house music that flows to bass heavy tunes, late night dances in mind.

Instead, he expresses aspects of house, disco, soul, funk, jazz, reggae, dub, techno, ambient, electronica, rock, African, and Latin music. Jada Lorraine, commonly known by her moniker JADALAREIGN, is a Brooklyn-based DJ, event producer and multidisciplinary artist. JADA is known for her vast knowledge of the musical spectrum, and her eclectic selections of high energy dance music. She marries a variety of rhythms and genres to send powerful vibrations through any dance-floor. JADA co-curates a monthly party called PERK, a haven for individuality, movement and expression. She has been featured in Vibe Magazine, i-D Magazine and Vice and was recognized by Revolt for her contributions to modern DJ culture in NYC. Most recently, JADA produces a workshop and discussion series titled SKILLSHARE, centering womyn, non-binary and LBGTQ people of color, with topics including DJing, audio production, event production, community building and professional development.

DJ Kim Lightfoot has been a music collector and turntable artist for most of his life, yet he somehow remains one of Brooklyn's best-kept secrets. With a cult following that reaches as far as the Land of the Rising Sun but that was born in the streets of Brooklyn, a party with him on the ones-and-twos is always a night or day to remember. The best thing about this humble music maestro is that he's an old-school vet who's never lost touch with his soul.

He was raised in the Brownsville section of Brooklyn NY in the 1970’s, Kim’s living room and the streets were his soundtrack. He remembers the music that his mother, older brothers, and aunts used to play. Motown to Funk, Jazz to reggae, Rock to Gospel, James Brown to Johnny Mathis. Kim loved it all. As a young teenager he served as MC to
his twin brother Corey's deejaying. Once they started making mixtapes and doing house parties and community center gigs they were neighborhood legends. Then Kim started watching and learning from Corey and developed his skills deejaying. Corey’s enlistment in the Air Force and Kim departure for college where he hooked up with a crew
on campus (The Master Jammers) spinning break beats and dance music was the impetus for his solo career as professional DJ. Leaving school after the 1st year he found himself back in Brooklyn and he immersed himself into spinning and collecting music..
