British producer GVN releases ‘Lucid Desire / Stay’, out now on Anjunabeats.

GVN was introduced to Anjunabeats by gardenstate’s Marcus Schössow. Born in Northern Ireland, the Liverpool-based producer is a star in the making: he’s collaborated with Third Party, released on Martin Garrix’s label and has been supported by BBC Radio 1’s Pete Tong and Danny Howard.

Earlier this year, he collaborated with gardenstate on the 700th Anjunabeats release, ‘Take Me There’. He’s also released on the Anjunabeats Rising EP series, and his tracks have featured heavily on BBC Sport’s coverage of the UEFA Euro 2020 championships.

With ‘Lucid Desire’, I wanted to stretch boundaries and incorporate a four-to-the-floor element to switch things up. ’Stay’ began as an idea sent by John (JRJ) which I was blown away by. Andrew Bayer teams up with Kaleena Zanders on LGBTQ+ anthem 'Break The Rules', lifted from part two of his double album 'Duality'.

A two-part album project, ‘Duality’ began as a homage to Andrew's debut album, 'It's Artificial'. Crafted over three years, ‘Duality pt. 1' explores Bayer’s passion for downtempo and indie-pop, while ‘Duality pt. 2' takes on his forward-thinking trance and progressive sound.

‘Duality pt. 1' was released on August 12 via Anjunabeats. Met with acclaim from fans and supported by Sirius XM's Diplo and Liquid Todd, it featured collaborations with OLAN, Run Rivers, Asbjørn, MOR, Dave Thomas Junior and more. 

On ‘Duality pt. 2’, Andrew takes the energy and BPM up a gear with ten tracks of cutting-edge club sounds - avant-garde sensibilities, aimed straight at the dancefloor.

Road tested on the 'Duality' tour and Andrew's performances at The Gorge, Brooklyn Mirage and Dockyards London, 'Break The Rules' is a spirited anthem celebrating self-love and personal truth through a queer lens. It's a collaboration with Kaleena Zanders - often compared with iconic 90's vocalists CeCe Peniston and Robin S (and even Whitney Houston), Kaleena has worked with the likes of Finneas, AC Slater, Loud Luxury, Breathe Carolina, Moon Boots and Morgan Page to name a few. Kaleena's songs often incorporate themes of social justice and intersectional activism.

Polish maestro Andromedha makes a triumphant return to our label with "Luminosity," an uptempo two-track affair. A seasonal resident of our flagship radio show (Silk Music Showcase), as well as the main host of Progressions Radio on Digitally Imported, Andromedha has proven himself an extraordinary contributor to the trance & progressive niche, thanks to his consistently inspired releases; each and every one of his tracks is an introspective, soulful, and often exhilarating venture. 

The aptly named opener "Luminosity" sparkles with a vibrant glow. A subtle rise slowly paves a path towards a nebula of colorful synth arrays. These remain constant throughout the track, a reminder of the deeper feelings that we carry with us throughout our day. A celestially inspired main breakdown showcases these mesmerizing melodic themes, with the arrangement ultimately revealing a cosmic groove that reverberates through the dancefloor.

"Purple Skies" is a gorgeous peak-hour opus, with distinct rises and breakdowns that reflect a modern trance sensibility. Jetting out of the gate with a full-bodied groove, the track quickly rises, leading to a climactic breakdown. Haunting piano keys introduce the breathtaking climax, which is soon joined by gorgeous chords and a suspenseful buildup, ultimately making way for an electrifying drop. Like its predecessor in the EP, Purple Skies elicits profound existential contemplations from the listener, while also offering plenty of rhythmic fuel for the clubs.
