Returning to Purified Records with his first solo label offering, Dutch producer Thysma delivers his stunning two-track ‘Shiver’ EP. Entering a blissful sonic realm, the title track floats across a soothing arrangement with twinkling keys and undulating patterns. Moving into ‘Next To You’, this vocal cut combines rhythmic percussion with enlightening melodies to complete the EP. 

The ‘Shiver’ artwork features a majestic image of a whale shark captured by Daniel Nicholson. Among the most iconic of sharks, the whale shark is the largest fish that exists today. The whale shark is found worldwide through all tropical and warm temperate seas, apart from the Mediterranean. Though they appear to prefer surface waters between 21-24 degrees C, they make regular dives down to 1000 meters. One of the biggest scientific mysteries is where the pregnant females give birth, though there is some evidence that the Philippines may host a nursery ground. Because of their importance to local tourism economies, whale sharks are fully protected in Mexico, Belize, and Honduras. Organizations like the MarAlliance focus on research, conservation, and community engagement to protect threatened marine species, including whale sharks and rays. The whale shark is listed as endangered according to the IUCN Red List.

Located on the Ningaloo Reef in Western Australia, Daniel Nicholson is one of the globe’s most prominent professional underwater photographers. He seeks to share the beauty and magic of the underwater world to inspire conservation and change.

The kick drum is a synthesized human heartbeat, the atmosphere is woven from the hiss of an oxygen mask, and the tension is built from the charge of a defibrillator. Each of the 10 tracks uses a synthesized EKG as its core, creating a cinematic soundscape that is both intensely human and clinically precise.

Embark on a 10-track journey that tells the story of a single shift. The album's narrative arc moves from the calm, steady beat of "First Watch" to the urgent, high-BPM drive of "Code Three" and the dramatic, arrhythmic climax of "Asystole," before finally finding reflection and resolution in "End of Watch."
