After many months of closure, fate smiled upon us this past New Year’s when Paquita Gordon (Italian vinyl-cognoscente and Terraforma resident) paid us a visit to dust off the cobwebs at Horoom. An avid explorer, in her travels as much as her bringing together of like-minded musicians for experimentations in sound, there’s a freedom in her craft. For this, the last hour of her set, she channels this libertine energy with the type of fun, high-octane amalgam of sounds she’s come to be known for. This week we welcome DJ, producer and radio host Paula Tape to our mix series with a 70 minute tour through the sounds and selections that are quickly building her a well-deserved reputation as one of the most exciting talents in the scene. A purveyor of eclectic selections, expect stomping beats and playful percussive riffs, synth-heavy rhythms and much more. 

Paula's energetic sound is mirrored across her own productions (with releases on Rhythm Section, Permanent Vacation, Planet Trip Records and more), as well as her radio shows on Worldwide FM and Milan's Radio Raheem and we're excited to be welcoming her to Dimensions this summer with a debut appearance for our 10th anniversary celebrations.

I met Francesco in 1996, he usually came to the record store I was working at in Frankfurt (Delirium Records) straight after a good night out at the OMEN on Saturday morning and hung out with his friends for quite some time listening to the new records we dropped (knowing they would function really well ;)).
We've been friends since and occasionally, when I need time out from Berlin and some inspiration, I stay a few days at his place in Dietzenbach (near Offenbach).
Last Saturday, we spontaneously streamed 2 live DJ sets to my Blast Radio channel and on Sunday night, we just streamed another one.
The 3rd one is too good to be leaving the internet after 24 hours, so we uploaded it here for your listening pleasure. We might even upload the other 2 mixes, let us know in the comments if we should do so!

Sevensol is a splendid producer, DJ and label boss. Kann, the label of which he co-founded alongside Bender, has become one of the best and most significant in a new wave of record labels championing House music in Europe. A figurehead of the Leipzig underground music scene Sevensol cut his teeth at record stores across the city, working behind the counters and gathering a wealth of knowledge which would go on to inform and inspire his own taste and perspective as a DJ.

His music is often deep, pensive and driven by emotions. This is perhaps best noted on his own productions, upon which he works with Bender to craft stripped back, textural music which tugs at the heartstrings as much as it moves the feet.

As a DJ Sevensol’s style is innovative and unique, seeking to take dancers on a journey through multiple genres and styles, all with ethereal undertones. Sevensol is also one half of the DJ duo Manamana alongside Map.ache.

We invited him to record this mixtape a little while back and now that it’s shown up it doesn’t disappoint.
