It's Valentine's Day, and because I love you all, I decided to give away this new rework of Stevie Wonder. It is one of my favorite love song released in 1967 on the LP "I was made to love her", and to which I added new drums, new percussions, played the entire bassline, with a brand new groove to it.

What more can we possibly say about nu-disco producer Valique and his two-year bootleg/edit/mash-up blitzkreig that we haven't already said? Listening back over these 31 offerings it becomes apparent that this is simply the soundtrack to one seriously mighty party. There are simply just so many dancing-on-tables moments here (we'll let him away with some of the shockers) including the grooved up DM cover "Personal Jesus" by Johnny Cash, the surreal, intoxicating deep disco take on Al Green's "Let's Stay Together" and the dreamy paradise melodies of "Still You". Here's to the next couple of years!

When people first hear of an entire night dedicated to the music of Stevie Wonder it's generally an unimaginable thought, but it works. You simply have to be there to understand it.  It doesn't matter how many times Stevie makes an appearance or phone call, it's always a brand new experience… Truly exciting and a total blessing from one of the greatest musical treasures of this life. Here's a clip of the phone call Stevie made during the jam in NY on 5/31/06 at 1am in the morning. If you were there you knew  how magical this felt.

Ahead of the next release on mine & Philly Blunts label Grits N Gravy I thought I'd give out this cheeky little nugget that I made a while ago. It's my version of the classic 'Sir Duke' by the legend that is Stevie Wonder with a bit of a Nu Funk / Ghetto Funk twist. 

I didn't really want to do to much to the song structure or add in too much so have tried to keep it quite subtle on the bass side of things (although I have put in a whole new bassline) but added some cool new beats, chops, fills & edits. It fits nicely into things at 115bpm.

Another addition to this series of edits. I was looping the start of Golden Lady at a gig recently and mixing it with something off Keep Up and it seemed like the right thing to do.

I love this track deeply so I hope you will forgive me chopping it - it is honestly done with love. Nothing could improve the original - I was simply taking it somewhere else for DJing purposes. x
