The second part of my Doors influenced big jam number.

I could have left the album here, but I had more material. I also liked drowning in my own misery.

The Sea part II (Insurmountable She)

Here we are, the centrepiece of the album.
A place where our main character is briefly joined by the object of his affection on backing vox. 

I always knew i had a cool jazz song in me.
This is a bit of a departure for those who've heard Colossus live.

Someone Utterly Beautiful

It was my intention that my voice is the element that holds this album together. The playing is incestuous enough to be called a style but it's my voice i think that I really wanted to preserve.

When you're known amongst your mates as the shouty one in the band you have (if you can back it up) the need to claim that you're capable of sweetness.

Upon compiling the album, relentlessly messing with the order, I found aping Nevermind helped justify the flow I settled on.

Strange Century is the Lithium of the L.P.

The track that follows is very much intended to be the 'Polly' of The Sea.

Strange Century

The main riff of this song has been with me since I was a kid.
I can't remember the computer game I ripped it off from!
It was a shooting game though, I remember that.

This track has so many interesting breaks and builds. I wish I had more songs that messed around with the audience. Well, I do but to be honest that's Rob's influence in Colossus that guarantees that.

Like the track Goo for example, which even though was written mostly with Nacho (one time lead guitarist of Colossus), Rob placed a number of great breaks in.

Don't Cry

This track is the first off a self produced album called The Sea.
the next 11 tracks are off that album and they run in order.
It was recorded around 2003/4
The album has a concept and that concept is obsession.

Since I was 16 I've been recording like a mad man.
