Diego Berrondo - Closing Sunday PHU (07.06.2020)

It's been another few difficult weeks for everyone since the last Closer Distancing session/show/mix. And then when the ugly news broke about hungry children, being "voted against" this last week in Parliament, it's safe to say I was feeling a bit ropey.  

Thankfully there are many heroes looking out for our kids. Parents, teachers, childcare staff. This one is for you. Keep pushing on, keep engaging with each other and always dance. 

Love the way this starts off. Amazing first tune. Tried to keep it quite dark, uplifting, glowing, dirty, acidy melodic and prog vibes. Also ended up going a bit Cream in the mid 90's vibes with tunes from different eras near the end, even though they were from the mid noughties? Hope you enjoy. Please give it a share to those who you think might like it. 

Hope you like the journey of my cat in the artwork of Closer Distancing, too. Just keeping on with the creativity as it's good for mental health in these socially distance times. Plus he's my biggest fan when I play some tunes in our house...

Colour and Pitch welcomes Sleepy & Boo, longtime stalwarts of New York's underground music scene, with three finely crafted deep and contemplative house cuts that comprise the 'Decoding Reality' EP.

The duo have been a constant presence on the dancefloors of the Big Apple for years now, holding down residencies and making appearances at some of New York's most iconic nightclubs and events. In 2015, they began their production journey, and have since released a wide array of tracks on esteemed labels including Toolroom, Yoshitoshi, Transmit, Nervous, Deeperfect, 3Bridge Records and many more.  

The 'Decoding Reality' EP marks their Colour and Pitch debut: three beautifully realised, imaginative and atmospheric deep house cuts, full of dreamy melodies and rock-solid grooves. These tracks convey both uplifting and introspective moods that engage and inspire the listener.

The 7th volume in a new series that encapsulates how I feel in this strange new world. A sense of floating in the uncertainty of the future, a sense of hope for what’s to come, tinged with the melancholy of the present.

Featuring my favorite downtempo progressive house selections filled with groovy Middle Eastern and Latin inspired rhythms; lush, euphoric melodies, and ethereal harmonic bass.
