Every Wednesday from Spring 2012 untill summer "013 Ewan Juje and myself would get together at the studio. Half the time we spent nattering, the other half we played music, turned on the machine and see what came out. What came out was this album of original songs. After 25 years making music we touched and inspired each other. Now  we all head out on new adventures, we had the best of times, and "One life to live" says it all really.

Written on Ile a Vache, an island on the south west tip of Haiti which we sailed to aboard Picaroon on our circumnavigation of Hispaniola in 2015. A song describing the people and places we visited on the island and our trips to Le Cayes. Sadly we're watching the progress of hurricane Mathew as it threatens to devastate this island paradise.
Recorded on a Tascam app on my iphone, so the quality is a bit suspect,  I had become almost deaf due to Menieres disease by the time I put this down and had difficulty pitching the melody and hearing chord changes.

Recorded sometime in the early 1990s' by the Lakes Blues Band, written by me. Just re-discovered this hidden gem put down in my old studio, Southlake, in the Ellers, now Bright blue, and recorded on a Fostex E16 Reel to Reel analogue tape machine.

Colin Williams is a veteran musician, songwriter and singer, who has been making music since the 60s' . His latest venture is with a band called The Beat Combo. There are three members in the band, Ewan Blackledge, Juliet Hext, and Colin. The band is mostly studio based, recording original songs written by Colin and Ewan. They have been playing together for over twenty years in various guises, the longest lived being the Lakes Blues Band that played gigs for over fifteen years. 
The first album they made together as the Beat Combo was in 2008, you can find it on itunes, it was called Que Calor. We do sort of Reggae influenced tunes, latin influenced and even a bit of Afro influenced songs. We're mostly acoustic sounding with quite a bit of Ewans blues orientated slide and harmonica stuff giving the sound an edge that leans towards blues but it's closer to pop if that makes any sense.
