WAVELIKE -- Is an aggressive bass modulated 'THALL' influenced blast within the same thought science fiction thought experiment of MEMORY ECHOES. 
Two humans reaching out and writhing through the liminal nether that now separates everyone by using and becoming the particle-wave duality -- the very nature of light -- to interact and communicate via the paradox itself. 
Can human thought and memory be defined in such a way?
WAVELIKE sonically deconstructs this very notion.

WAVELIKE (SINGLE VERSION)

BLACK SUN RAYS echoes the mental and emotional disintegration of a particle physicist—a “Jumper”—from a crew conducting experiments known as ‘ETERNITY ARRAY’ at a large particle accelerator when the event occurred. Approximately 27 days after The Event, the
physicists and their team developed the ability to “jump” into the Liminal Nether, hoping to traverse its manifold and return— or reunite with loved ones, or some semblance of reconnection.

This cinematic, dark folk, and gothic country inspired track features a haunting duet between Réal Cardinal and Mari Kattman. Together, they evoke and embrace the merging of identities
and memories fractured by the Liminal Nether. Mari Kattman, celebrated for her focused solo work and collaborations with notable artists across the world, as well as her output with Helix, reunites with Comaduster after their acclaimed tracks “Monolith” and “Riverbound” from
DARKER MATTER. Her powerful presence elevates BLACK SUN RAYS to a profound exploration of transformation, loss, and acceptance.

The sound and processes in production are drawn from a memory deep in Cardinal’s
childhood — one of his earliest cassette tapes, from a formative shoe-gaze band,
had become physically warped from a rogue walkman.

Memory bound by connection through realized nostalgia.

Multi-instrumentalist Elijah Hennig on guitar —

that shifts into haunting, fractured territory.

Reed’s lyrics denote evocative, time washed but eerily specific memories — which are then interpreted spatially with Cardinal’s sound design — another frame of reality that warps and fragments around them.

Together they create a sonic palette that stretches from glitchy noir exposition, to 90s pop industrial anthemic plateaus.
Also invoking a world lost in recollection, drowning in detail, and rewinding in loops.
jamming the signal bleed of a song you once knew.

The collaboration was built on Cardinal providing Reed with a loose premise of the albums concept in insolation, and with an instrumental that Cardinal struggled to find his voice in but still wanted to explore.
A blind exploration for all involved.
Cardinal explored several versions of the song with Elijah — letting each versions essence bleed into the one after.

The second song on MEMORY ECHOES, "LIMINAL ZERO" stutters into frame with pulsing granules of emergent IDM textures, weaving through intense metal flourishes and reverb-soaked dead mall shoegaze mumbles. It blurs at the edges, crumbling under sludge and horror.

LIMINAL ZERO

The title track "MEMORY ECHOES" opens the album in a haze of blissful synthwave, building toward ruptures of shoegaze-infused cinematic destruction. It suggests the moment of the Liminal Zero Event itself — a warped cassette vision of a timeline that never was. A premonition of what comes next.

after the shift, the Jumper and their squad began initiating jumps, hoping to reconnect with lost moments or loved ones. All signals were go. All signals were wrong. Emerging in an infinitely expanding monochrome cityscape, they faced only fragmentation and mimicry. The mantra: The night. The road. became the only stable element—a fractured echo that haunts the Jumper's mind. There may never have been a way back. This cinematic dark folk and gothic country-inspired duet between Réal
Cardinal and Mari Kattman (Metropolis Records) becomes a study in merging identity, recursion, and fatalistic longing. Their collaboration—following 2019’s "Monolith" and "Riverbound"—pushes the emotional edge into an obliterated liminal horizon.

"SIGNAL TO NETHER" opens with a devastating half-time blast of neuro bass and glitch-infused IDM stutters, establishing its shattered pace before Cardinal’s vocals slide into focus. By the one-minute mark, the track explodes into a chant of We are eternal — grounding the track’s central themes of fractured duality and competing realities. Overlapping vocals present divergent lyrical interpretations of the same moment, colliding and separating like interference patterns. A 6/8 operatic bridge emerges from chaos, layered with dozens of voices, before collapsing back into chugging guitars and ratcheting bass rhythms. As the song decays into broken versions of itself, muffled and glitched into noise, the
ETERNITY ARRAY experiment begins.

SIGNAL TO NETHER

"ETERNITY ARRAY" functions as a brief but pivotal hinge — a haunting interlude of filtered acoustic guitar and noise. A short lyrical fragment calls forward to a later track before giving way to a field recording-style sound design piece: a lone voice speaking from within the Liminal Nether. The
perspective is that of the Jumper from "BLACK SUN RAYS" — making this track both a conceptual prequel and existential diary fragment.

ETERNITY ARRAY

"WAVELIKE" ventures into particle-wave desperation. Two individuals—one particle, one wave— attempt to bridge the divide across the Liminal Nether. Their coherence is shattered. The only way to communicate is through the oscillations of interference. With brutal sonic architecture, WAVELIKE harnesses paradox, signal blur, and collapsing logic. Reality diverges. Only the pulse remains. The song’s explosive breaks and vocoded hooks reflect a desperate reaching—a flicker of meaning in
recursive collapse.

"HOMEWARD" reimagines Comaduster’s earlier track "Where Do You Belong, Now" as a parallel-universe version of itself. Vocals and Lyrics written and performed by Mari Kattman (Metropolis Records) and Webb Cardinal on acoustic
and classical guitars, it’s a swirling, emotive centerpiece of layered vocal intimacy and deep melodic longing. The Reese bass roars in under cinematic swells, drawing the listener through recursive memory
with renewed urgency. In this timeline, maybe things happened differently. Maybe belonging means something else entirely.

HOMEWARD ft Mari Kattman

The physical world bends around memory, trying to reconstruct itself through the very words spoken. Alex Reed (Seeming, Artoffact Records) provides a lyrical noir vocal performance—evocative, time-washed, eerily specific—interpreted spatially by Cardinal’s sound design. Guitars from Elijah Hennig fracture and reinforce this vision. Their collaboration stretches from glitchy noir exposition to 90s pop-industrial anthemic plateaus, caught in looped recollections. Built from blind exploration, each version of the song bled into the next—distorting truth, layering emotion. It's all signal jam. And still… the less you know, the better.

THE LESS YOU KNOW feat Seeming

"MIMIC" detonates with industrial-infused jungle rhythms and massive sub bass hits. Within the chaos, fractured vocal samples whisper like ghosts—the voices of lives unlived, of timelines skipped. The final
third of the track becomes a doom-infused, down-tuned reprisal of "MEMORY ECHOES," bent through gravity and distortion until it nearly disappears under its own weight.

MIMIC

"PASSAGE AETERNUM" concludes the album. Guitars stretch across time like dying echoes, layered in repetitions so deep they reveal a solitary pulse beneath. The song builds and folds inward, showing overlapping versions of itself like shifting glass. A final resolve. The LZP coalesces. All roads lead here.
