DEAD CERT. Records is a label linked to the well known website deathtechno.com ran by Jack! Who? in the UK. A diverse palette has seen the previous releases feature music from artists including Audio Injection / Truncate, Paul Mac, TWR72, Echoplex, and Petter B to name but a few.

This is the second entry of the “Royal Mail” series inaugurated by Callum Plant in 2016 welcoming an artist to dive into the back catalogue and create some fresh reworks.

Juan Trujillo is a skilled artist the label has supported for many years and his Argentinian influence continues to grow having recently appeared on labels such as Noir Music, Alleanza and Counter Pulse, as well as running his own Simplecoding Recordings.

First up is the Marco Effe “Atomic Clocks” revision that is spinning with energy and raw sounds that provide depth and power ready to rinse club floors.

A recent track from Spanish newcomer A4 titled “The Moon” is the second selection keeping the distinctive and abstract tones intact yet more intensified, Juan creates a far out, groove-fuelled weapon.

Taking things a touch deeper, the Vegim rework opts for a spacey and hypnotic flavour, morphing the original notes of “Digital Fraction” into a subtle and twisted tripped out take.

Energun’s “Evolutionary” finishes things off as the most laid-back track of the four remixes, complete with dreamy textures and a spaced out, introspective vibe with just the right amount of bite.

Methodical is the newest venture from Italy’s MTD who introduces his latest alias with debut album titled Focus. He is also the owner of the seasoned label Sonntag Morgen and as an artist, has seen his music on imprints such as Animal Farm, Blackrod, Affekt, and Gynoid Audio.

This eleven track pack is nothing short of total excellence, with diverse ideas, yet solid club functionality. Familiar and new is difficult to achieve for any artist and we hold him in high esteem with no sign of filler, which is hard to find in the abundance of the digital world. Proving his production pedigree and consistently hitting the spot, this album is essential to real techno lovers.

For this DT:Premiere we selected the track “Köln” that gets into some mental pleasure with its hypnotic techniques. Using spacey drones and wonky modular stabs to create a moving and morphing sonic masterclass of exceptional analogue beauty.

Bade Records owners and two-time remix contributors Morven return to made of CONCRETE with their first full EP, with label member Toni Dextor up for remix duties.

"Western Super" is a slice of dance-inducing undulating techno, with a subdued percussion and catchy glitches ebbing and flowing as its obscure vocal seems to sputter through a radio loudspeaker in the backdrop. Another heavy-hitter comes in the shape of "Shift", which amps up the tension through its hard bassline and menacing snares. "Grindhouse" is yet another immersive, hazy dub techno piece which mesmerises from the get go. 

Toni Dextor’s remix of "Western Super" takes a detour into dark techno with effervescent synths and a subdued version of the vocal, leaving more room for the high impact of the enveloping, throbbing bass.
