Dam Swindle's Wanderist returns to Aus Music with club-ready three tracker, Imagine 

The Dutchman's third EP for the label blends breakbeats and house rhythms into fulsome electronic soundscapes  

Wanderist is the solo project of Maarten Smeets, half of the influential Dam Swindle duo. With that project and their Heist Recordings label, Smeets has spent the last decade-plus touring the world's best clubs and festivals and cooking up timeless house sounds across a wide spectrum of sub-genres. Earlier this year, they dropped their third full-length Open, which was a personal deep dive into a range of melancholic, ethereal sounds that often veered away from the dance floor and into lush home-listening. 

This new EP finds Smeets back in club mode and tapping into personal inspirations, from dreamy electro to dubby techno. Following his previous two outings on this label in 2020 and 2021 - which picked up support across the board from tastemakers like Len Faki, Anastasia Kristensen, Josh Wink and Luke Slater plus plays on BBC Radio 1, Ibiza Sonica and many more - he taps into fresh rhythms and a futuristic energy that moves body and mind. 

Opener 'Imagine' has shimmering synth work bringing scale to crisp, well-programmed broken beats. Careful, tender synth sequences layer in unresolved suspense while refracted vocal fragments and glitchy textures push into an otherworldly space. 'Wait' is a speedy cut built on deft but kinetic broken beats with a free-roaming bassline leading up to the stars. It's an immersive sound with lush layers of synths and cascading arps all dragging you into their orbit. 'Just a Groove' maintains the momentum with sparkling chords and urgent, cantering drums. Progressive melodies glow while the most subtle of trance chords hint at old school hands-in-the-air euphoria.

57 minutes of sharp, fast, freaky techno from the underground pop star.

Long before SoundCloud made him famous, RJ Glasgow was already producing edits from his bedroom in Philadelphia. The artist now known as LSDXOXO spliced R&B classics with DMX Krew and Madonna, then graduated from bedroom producer to internet provocateur with his 2010 mix series Spit or Swallow, where La Roux met Ratatat and Rihanna collided with Crystal Castles.

A decade later, that same DIY energy has taken him far beyond the online underground. Now based in Berlin, Glasgow has opened for Beyoncé on her Renaissance tour, remixed Kelela, Lady Gaga and Björk, and taken his Floorgasm party worldwide.

His RA Mix captures that evolution in full flight. Across 57 minutes and 26 tracks, RA.1012 tears through shades of contemporary techno—from big-room precision (Adam Beyer) to looping hardgroove (Italia 90, River Moon) and razor-sharp edits (EsDeeKid & Fakemink).

“Maybe my music invokes that freaky feeling,” he told Resident Advisor in 2022. “A lot of people have that inner freak.” That spirit still drives him today—sensual, chaotic, unapologetic—and reminds us that wherever he plays, LSDXOXO will always be a club kid.

Waly Verdun’s passion for electronic music shines through the sophistication of his sets, exploring house, disco and techno with versatility and tenacity.  

In his flirtation with different genres, Waly demonstrates a musical flexibility that allows him to soundtrack any scenario from pool parties to steamy afterhours. 

As a part of the NYC underground music movement, his ability to control the crowd and keep the groove on the dancefloor stems not only from understanding the legacy of queer nightlife and dance music but also for producing parties in New York & LA. 

He is no stranger to collaborating with other artists, Djs and promoters and has developed concepts for festivals, raves, electronic music events and underground afterhours. 

Originally from Asunción, Paraguay but now based in the big apple, he has spent the past few years traveling and playing in clubs across the US, Mexico & Canada, refining his music and experimenting with different audiences. 

His DJ sets are filled with vocal house and disco grooves, flirting with drums and some dark beats.
