We're happy to have DJ Alex Voices back for an extended 2 part live mix, recorded at a secret private party / Berlin location on new years eve, 2021. The whole recording is just over 8 hours long, so we'll post it up in 2 parts with the next instalment coming in a month or 2. 

Needless to say, Alex shouldn't really need an intro, but for the uninitiated he's one of London's finest DJs and selectors (now based in Berlin), a former Lucky Cloud / Loft sound-system crew member, and 1/3 of Voices Collective who alongside Cedric Woo and John Ramar held a long residency at Plastic People (RIP). He also has his own very dope 'Voices In My Head' radio show on Cashmere Radio (link below). 

Alex is a proper music lover and this mix has it all, bonafide classics, deep house, disco, techy, dubby gear, reggae, soul steppers, island excursions and literally all points in between. Flawlessly selected, mixed and very generously shared with everyone here. Keep an eye out for Part 2 coming later in the year. In the meantime, strap on your ear-goggles and dive in.....

Lawrence le Doux is impossible to pin down. The Belgian has been beating his own path since the nineties under a range of different guises. His latest album Host—following a soundtrack on Hivern Discs and years of everything from rap to hardcore to ambient—came on his home label Vlek and was an embodiment of the last 30 years of electronic music in his homeland. From digital dub to house to industrial, it covers plenty of ground in authentic style and made for a fascinating listen. 

Over more than eighty minutes here, he serves up an equally kaleidoscopic mix filled with beautiful moments. It’s a late night affair that takes in ambient house, trippy 5am techno, dubbed out grooves, beguiling broken beats, trance, afro and plenty in between. Transitions feel natural and coherent even if, on paper, they shouldn’t. It’s a mix that comprehensively proves Lawrence le Doux’s understanding and knowledge of electronic music runs deep.
