Joining us for the 27th edition of our 'Members Mix' series, we are delighted to be joined by a foundational member of the SnS community Chach.

Chach currently holds a residency on 1020 radio for Hidden Rooms, a non-for-profit party he’s involved who have been throwing events in Amsterdam & Rotterdam. Check out some words from the man himself about the mix:

“I was asked to do a mix for Shuffle and Swing so, so long ago and for whatever reason I took my sweet little time in pissing about. Nothing I recorded was Shuffle-y enough and when it was - then it just didn’t swing. I wouldn’t know how to describe the end product, but it’s an ode to picking out silly and obscure bits - big grins in record shops, weary eyes on the cogs. 

I’d like to dedicate the mix to friends old and new - Seb, BP, Mallory and as ever the silliest of silly crews.”

When I first started Djing I use to spend all night playing at the club and then very often I would head on out after the nights work and hit another club where I could listen to other DJs do their thing. Many clubs from Shelly's, Entropy, Bakers, Ministry, wobble all use to be regular haunts for me and my friends and when the night was over we all use to head on over to either a friend’s house or to my house for a bit of a chillout session. Back then I use to play some chillout tunes in an afterhours session. Smooth soul, laidback jazz and triphop with a sprinkling of leftfield, every now and again.

Well, even to this day, I still play those tunes daily which helps to bring a calming vibe in my house and in my life especially when I get a bit stressed out and need to chillout.

"Chilled Music is something that I first found back in the late 1980's and to be truthful it has never left my side since then".

A short while back I started expanding my music collection particularly in this vein and in doing so I came across what can only be called Chillhop. I then found A Label that is called Chillhop Records from there I followed the roots of the music and not only expanded the music I own, But I also expanded my mind into a new selection of quality artists that I had up until recently not known. I’ve been listening to their sounds for a couple of years now. In their albums and in their releases, they have introduced me to some truly amazing producers as well as some fantastic tunes.

Here in the 2nd mix from my Chillhop Sessions Collection is a few more of my favorite Tunes.

Advice for the DJs, artists and producers of our community: Have patience with yourself and your journey.
Lately, I've felt the pressure seeping in as I play bigger & bigger stages. I want to remind myself and you to trust in 'your own world of sound'. It deserves to be amplified, shared, and appreciated. Make it so that your world of sound helps other people to unlock theirs too because no one can do this completely alone. You need a balance of frequencies in order to harmonize with and thus find your tribe. You have to confidently project your manifestations in order to find these people. This is how the forcefield of love grows beyond the parties, the clubs, and the weekends to invigorate your whole sense of being and to teach you the never-ending lesson of sweet sonic gratitude.

"This is a power hour of Techstep-leaning records that I found in dusty bargain bins, charity shops and flee markets over the past few years. 
A couple of mentions - firstly DJ Vetoe (or Vetoe), I've listened to so many of his shows and mixes but he seems to have taken many of them down sadly. You can thankfully still find the occasional gold mine of his track lists on discogs. Secondly, Natural Frequency who are pushing the weirder, quirkier and quicker sounds like these.
