Being a gentile who listens to this podcast assidously and enjoy it very much, I am struck at the position regarding Yeshiva schools. They feel offended that the NYT publishes these results, but then justify it. So which is it? I think a good test of fairness would be to say what if these results were presented to you as group of schools X and compare them to the performance in other schools? I would say their position woudl have been much different. Yes, religious schools do not seem to teach regular topics in tests. You cannot expect them to perform well in this metric. Fine. But as they say, it seems education is not everything.
