The series is well known for breaking newer artists and giving experienced producers a platform for getting their music heard.  Many top artists have been featured in the series over the years including the likes of R1C0, Radicall, Satl, Aetherial, Leniz, CPH, Critical Event, Aperio, ALB, Cnof, Physics, Degster, Cosmic Sequence (Distance), Alexvnder, InnaSelf, Melinki, Soul Connection, Greekboy, Dip Vertigo, and many others.  

The latest edition of the series takes on the same mission of thrusting some up-and-coming artists into the spotlight for the Drum & Bass community to take notice. From the soothing sounds of Marble Elephant’s, “Ancient Groove,” and  Caeseum’s, “The Way You Love,” to the heavier feeling of Sqbass’s, “Red“, to the Liquid sounds of Soul Connection’s, “Don’t Wanna Think About It”, and the funky rolling vibes of Dialective’s, “Moodboard,” there is something on this album for everyone to appreciate. Soul Deep would like to thank all the artists who took the time to write, perfect, and sign their songs to Soul Deep. We first introduced Nookie's 'Binary State' alias to HeadzState in 2022, and with two EPs now under his belt we are delighted to present the debut album from this techno-focused project.

Nookie is no stranger to lower tempos having always been inspired by the sounds of techno, specifically those emanating from Detroit in the late 80s and early 90s. It was only a matter of time before he took this passion to a new level in terms of production, something that has kept him thoroughly engaged in the studio in recent years.

Titled 'InterFEARence', the album focuses particularly on percussion, chord progressions and deeper, more intricate elements, smoothly coming together over 12 tight-knit tracks. This is a real journey in terms of a listening experience and one that we're proud to house as the first full length artist album on HeadzState.

Starting out as a duo, the Commix name has graced some of Drum & Bass’ leading labels since coming to prominence in the early 2000’s, and the debut album, ‘Call To Mind’, holds the honour of being the first solo artist album for historic label Metalheadz. The lead single, 'Be True', has long since cemented its place in Drum & Bass history as an anthem on the grandest scale, and the album itself was incredibly well received across the electronic music spectrum and is widely regarded as one of the best D&B LPs of all time.

As a DJ his focus is on the deep, the experimental and the musical.
