"Live the Dream!" In the short but impressive career of this young Ayrshire based band they have certainly strived to turn this motto into a reality.

Likened to many giants from the Indie Rock 'n Roll scene; The Libertines and The Strokes to name a few - these five small town lads remain with their feet firmly on the ground, focused solely on making great music - no nonsense, in your face and unadulterated Rock 'n Roll for the modern era.

"There’s no artiness or fartiness or pretentiousness to Common Ground‘s tunes. Not for them a wonky, experimental keyboard or a carefully crafted string section. Their songs come at you like an unexpected kick in the haw maws, rattlin’ by like the 48-wagon coal train that thunders through Kilwinning on its way to Hunterston most nights of the week. Once heard, never forgotten. Just like Common Ground‘s tunes."

2013 saw the Killwinning 5 piece hit the studio to record their debut EP. Shortly after, their song 'Mr VIP' was voted single of the year in the 'Voice of Scotland' unsigned music poll. An admirable achievement considering the history of the band spans less than eight months.

Fresh from a string of impressive performances supporting The Sunshine Underground, The Spitfires and 90's legends Northside, also headlining their own show at King Tut's recently, these lads are bursting with enthusiasm and passion and will have no difficulties enlisting yet more loyal fans into what has affectionately been dubbed the 'Common Ground Army'.

Common Ground are already lining up gigs and filling their summer calendar with their first trip down south coming up very soon. They are also busy writing new material and plan to head in to the studio to record some tracks. Keep your eyes and ears peeled, definitely not to be missed. Get involved!
