The Architect roams the lower levels only to find familiar corridors leading somewhere else entirely. Doorways open to impossible landscapes, buildings breathe, and time inside the city no longer matches the clocks. Reality is melting into dream logic — and no one seems to notice but him.

The Architect has been wandering for days, though time has lost its grip here. In this place, streets rearrange themselves when you look away. He passes a corner bakery and, seconds later, finds it replaced by an open shore where waves hiss against cobblestones. No one seems alarmed. People walk as if nothing changes — their smiles faint, their eyes slow to blink — as if they’ve already made peace with living inside a dream.

The city feels alive, but not in the way machines live. It breathes, shifting with the rhythm of an unseen sleeper. Doorways lead to places that could not exist: a stairwell descending into clouds, an elevator that opens to a forest in autumn, a library whose shelves are lined with the names of people who haven’t been born yet.

The Architect begins marking his path with chalk on the walls, but each mark fades within moments, erased by the city itself. It’s as if the place resists permanence, as though it doesn’t want to be mapped — or remembered.

One night, under rain that tastes faintly of the sea, the Architect hears a voice from a window above: “It’s not the city that’s dreaming… it’s you.” The shutters close.

He stands in the empty street, unsure whether to move forward or to wake up — if waking up is still possible.

“Cities Made of Sleep” depicts a dreamlike, unstable world where urban landscapes shift, dissolve, and rewrite themselves, blurring the line between memory, illusion, and reality. Streets vanish, towers turn to grass, oceans appear and fade, and even names and maps cannot hold their place, suggesting a city that is alive, fluid, and indifferent to human attempts at permanence. The inhabitants, numbed to the constant transformations, accept the unreality as normal, while the narrator resists, trying to hold onto meaning in a place where nothing endures. 

The final twist — “it’s not the city that’s dreaming, it’s you” — reframes the disorientation as a projection of the self, making the city both a metaphor for the subconscious and a mirror of fragile human perception.

Des yeux qui n’en finissent plus de sonder le calendrier, des talons qui frappent le sol frénétiquement et des guitares qui réclament leur libération du studio. Autant de signes qui trahissent l’impatience féroce de ceux qui n’ont connu que la route pendant trois ans et 350
concerts à travers la France, l’Asie ou les Etats-Unis. Last Train s’est construit sur scène, s’est façonné au rythme enragé des tournées et a signé le premier chapitre de son histoire, « Weathering », entre deux aires d’autoroutes. De la scène du Bataclan aux plus importants
festivals du globe, les quatre membres du groupe, qui ont d’une fratrie tout sauf le sang, ont marqué le rock français au fer rouge.
Une course effrénée jusqu’au feu rouge, en 2018, pour reprendre son souffle, compter les kilomètres parcourus et envisager la suite du chemin. Une année pour mûrir le successeur du premier album, une année pour mûrir tout court. Passés de l’adolescence à la vie de
jeunes adultes plus rapidement que prévu, les quatre garçons découvrent les vertus d’un temps qu’ils n’ont jamais pu prendre. Un temps nécessaire pour développer leur propre maison de disque et agence de booking, donner vie à un festival à leur image, mais aussi et
surtout pour redonner du sens à la musique. S’émanciper des clichés du rock pour en dévoiler la plus pure essence : un moyen d’expression avant d’être un genre, une source inépuisable de voies à emprunter.
« The Big Picture » est une fresque de paysages et d’espaces qui n’ont que faire des limites et des frontières. Un regard porté sur l’ensemble, l’illustration d’une vision au-delà de la ligne d’horizon. Mais cet album est aussi celui de l’intime, une exploration en profondeur, une
confession. Et de l’introspection naît la mélancolie, la fureur et le frisson. Intenses, fatalistes et toujours sincères, les onze titres qui composent ce nouveau chapitre sont le résultat d’une démarche que Last Train a voulu réfléchie, moins précipitée et définitivement assumée. Il semblerait presque que la Norvège, terre d’accueil de l’enregistrement de l’album, lui ait donné de sa lumière si particulière, furtive mais puissante, majestueuse et contrastée.
