Small rooms, low ceilings, smoke machines. Shifting silhouettes, raised arms, chemically-enhanced sweat - The Completely Boys make music firmly aimed at the late night dance floor.

A new collaborative project from Sydney-based producers Andrew Boon (aka Sydney club staple Frames / @framesmusic) and Tom Gilmore (aka one half of bass-music duo B.O.O.M.A / @b_o_o_m_a and Game Boy project Ten Thousand Free Men & Their Families), The Completely Boys make loopy, hypnotic and nuanced long-form club music. Less is more. Tension and release.

With a bevy of tracks collecting under their belt, the first taste of The Completely Boys comes via the release of their ‘Boy’s Zone EP’ on October Records, dropping March 27.

The A-side, ‘Moving Out’, pairs preaching organs with meditative vocals, 90’s strings and strutting hihats - it’s food for the soul as well as the feet. Meanwhile, B-side ‘Hard 4 U’ juxtaposes tough drums with emotive chords, sparse bass and repeated vocal mantras – it gives & takes sparingly to a mesmerising, highly danceable effect.

The Completely Boys’ ‘Boy’s Zone EP’ is released March 27 via @OctoberRecords – stay tuned, the boys are back in town.

Moving Out

Between them the two have had stand out releases on the likes of Infinite Machine, Brownswood, Black Butter Records and Hypercolour sited label Losing Suki and now Bristol based producers Woz and Troy Gunner team up for their debut release on Mak & Pasteman’s Materials imprint. i-D are excited to share the exclusive of the lead track from the EP. Convo is a huge arpeggiated techno banger, with breathy, emotive vocals that draw you into the darkness.
