Following his stellar debut on Hydrozoa last year, Japanese studio wizard Hiroyuki Arakawa makes a powerful return to the label with a two-track EP that explores the darker depths of his profound sonic identity.
The journey begins with "North Pole," an immersive and high-octane cut designed for peak-time dancefloors. It weaves together a driving rhythm with a soaring '90s-inspired synth line, building a powerful and hypnotic narrative that culminates in a truly climactic moment.
On the flip side, "Lost Memory" takes a different turn. This is a chuggy, relentless techno track anchored by a heavy bass drum. Laced with intricate percussive details and a searing acid stab, it methodically works its way to a thunderous peak, perfect for those late-night sessions.
Hiroyuki Arakawa delivers another masterclass in production, showcasing his signature blend of emotional and energetic Techno.

BR118 is for the Belgian artist Mixklank and his roots lie in the same town as our label. His style can be described as dark, somewhat eclectic and obscure. On remix duty are APX Sound and Vjörn with 2 different visions on the track thatmakes the EP complete.  

Bio:
Mixklank is a Belgian Techno producer and audio engineer born on the 1th of February 1991. His father initiated him to music by listening to 70's and 80's hits on an old record player. When aged 8, Mixklank was already playing guitar and he experienced his first time as a DJ when he was 12 years old.

The same year, he bought his first DJ equipment and created his first mixes in his bedroom. In 2007, at 16 years old, he participated in the “TMF DJ’s at home” contest. Mixklank was one of the 12 participants selected for the contest. His live mix was recorded and broadcasted on the television channel TMF. One year later, he expanded his music skills by producing his own tracks. In 2009, Mixklank released a first track under the Spanish label Productos BMM, under the name of DJ Jaimy. 

Unfortunately, Productos BMM stopped its activity as a music label and took down all the releases. From 2009 until 2015, Mixklank entertained music lovers at multiple local parties. 

Thereafter, Mixklank took a break of 4 years on music in order to focus on his other passion: videography. However, at the start of 2019 he realized he missed producing electronic music and started his education as an audio engineer. Mixklank is now a proud Techno producer and mixing & mastering engineer in his own music studio, also named Mixklank. 

In 2020, Mixklank started releasing tracks again.

But they do it with a sound that embodies such determination that it could just as well come from the good old days in the beginning. That's primarily down to label boss Drumcomplex, who in this short period and with very few artists has established a reputation that has projected virtually every new release into the playlists of the major players. And in the process he and his label have themselves grown to become a major force.It's as if Complexed Records hit the nerve of an age which was not openly calling out for a powerful breath of techno past, yet still seems relieved to hear it. Or rather, to absorb it. Who would have thought a few years ago that once again a new techno label would be established and experience such a meteoric rise. But let's leave the past in peace. Let's look to the future. A glittering future with packed dance floors, on which visionaries once again celebrate music as a unifying element as they dance together into the early hours, with gratified smiles on their faces.
