A note from the artist:

Launching in January 2022, DSC (Deepak Sharma Collection) is a new digital series where I’ll be releasing an individual track each month.

The project materialized from the pandemic as an outlet to keep busy and sane from the isolation.  From fresh material to digging into the vault and editing older sketches, everyone was fair game.

The result is a collection of varied works where the sound is consistent with what I’m known for: stripped down, rolling and hypnotic atmospheres ideal for dark dance-floors which I missed both as a DJ and a dancer.

The first two years of DSC have been completed so I see this offering becoming a resource for DJs to grab a tool when they need on a more consistent basis from me.

First access will be available on BandCamp than later in the month the usual digital outlets with its own page on Beatport and then stream services such as Spotify.

I hope you’ll join me on the journey and enjoy the series!

DJ Sodeyama readies ‘Makura EP’ for Radio Slave’s Rekids Special Projects. 

Running the Arpa label from Japan since 2011, DJ Sodeyama has been actively involved in house and techno since the early 90s. Releasing music on labels such as Dynamic Reflection, Children of Tomorrow, Quartz and more under his The People In Fog alias, DJ Sodeyama now arrives on Radio Slave’s hard-hitting techno imprint Rekids Special Projects for his first appearance on the label. 

Leading the release is ‘Catura’, bringing gentle flowing pads and gorgeous twinkling synths before the trippy, acid-tinged ‘Kumbhira’ takes a darker turn, sending the listener down a polyrhythmic rabbit hole. ‘Makura’ ups the tempo, drawing for sharp and fast percussion hits amongst ghostly atmospherics, an atmosphere matched by the deep and rolling ‘Pajira’, before ‘Sandira’ closes the release with a moody heads-down track complete with hypnotic synthesis and quirky FX.

"Back in her student days, Nadja Si started researching electronic sound, where she found techno. Observing music through the prism of her original work in art and film, she quickly fell in love with techno and decided that she wanted to do DJing. At the very beginning, she studied on her own, and two years later she was also a participant in the Modular workshops in Sarajevo. She developed her playing style very quickly, based on the industrial and underground Berlin sound. Her sets are full of energy, dark sounds, off beat and melancholy. Nadja Si also deals with post-production of sound, film and design. Based in Sarajevo, she is now part of the Dance More Sleep Later club program and one of the residents of the Trezor club."

What does techno look like in its purest form? Clear in its structure. Credible in its message. With an insistent beat in the background. With its heart in the right place. And its melody in the tips of the never-ending goosebumps.Those who know, are aware of that. Those who can, do it. At Complexed Records they've only been doing just that since 2014. But they do it with a sound that embodies such determination that it could just as well come from the good old days in the beginning. That's primarily down to label boss Drumcomplex, who in this short period and with very few artists has established a reputation that has projected virtually every new release into the playlists of the major players. And in the process he and his label have themselves grown to become a major force.It's as if Complexed Records hit the nerve of an age which was not openly calling out for a powerful breath of techno past, yet still seems relieved to hear it. Or rather, to absorb it. Who would have thought a few years ago that once again a new techno label would be established and experience such a meteoric rise. But let's leave the past in peace.
