It all started for James Mathias AKA Complicit Dj in Christchurch, New Zealand 2004. After finding the passion for Drum and Bass and playing numerous small bars across the city his first big break came in late 2005, helping start a resident Thursday night at the Jetset with local guns Nic B, Harzee, Gravy, Jabz and Luice. On top of this residency Complicit and Nic B hosted a weekly radio show out of C1 Café on the radio station Urbanbreaks.
After a few years making a name for himself in the local Christchurch scene Complicit made the move across the ditch to Melbourne in 2008. He quickly settled in with the New Grounds cru and was a resident for their night at the Night Owl. Supporting the local night he also locked in supporting gigs for kiwi artists Cern and Urban Notion. New Grounds wasn’t the only cru Complicit made a name in. Melbourne big guns Twisted Audio and Subbass also payed homeage to his dark, rolling style with many slots across local nights and outdoor events.
On top of his Dj skills Complicit has been producing for the last 6 years but really knuckled down in the last couple fine tuning his skills. With a deep rolling style he has really started making waves recently working with artists internationally such as Emily Mare and local producers Deall(Dubpride Recordings), Rubix, Arbee, Break-Fast and Dayelle.

Expect big things in the future from the one they call Complicit Dj.
