Chris Larkin has been an active composer in the Australian Film, corporate
and TV industries, and has provided scores and arrangements for a variety of
different projects.

Recent projects include music for the University of Adelaide Life Impact TV ad
campaign, the score for the highly-awarded short film Toot Toot – for which he
won Best Composition at SASA – and additional music for the award-winning
children’s show Figaro Pho.

Along with his work for independent film and TV, Chris has provided music for
games and has an extensive output of concert music, developed during his time
at the Elder Conservatorium of Music at Adelaide University.

Expand is a single player video game in which players explore a circular labyrinth constructed as an abstract black and white geometric landscape. Players must avoid getting squashed as the labyrinth twists, stretches and reveals itself, always responding to the players actions and movements.

Recently I was asked to write the music for Taste Creative’s latest video. For this, I had the opportunity to compose the music during preproduction. They hadn’t even begun shooting the video until after the music was written. This allowed me to really focus on the music and to bring it to it’s fullest potential.

Christopher Larkin is an award winning composer and sound designer for games, film and TV. His output includes work for clients such as Madman Entertainment, ABC, Mitsubishi and Bandai Namco. Awards include Best Music for Children’s TV at the APRA/AGSC Screen Music Awards, Best Composition at the South Australian Screen Awards, official selections at the Australian Game Developer Awards, PC Gamers Best Game Music of the Year, ASSG Awards, and Freeplay Awards.

One of Chris’ main goals is to maintain a classically-educated approach to music composition and sound design, whilst using his knowledge of current technology to produce a vast range of musical styles and soundscapes.

Chris strongly believes that some of his best work has been the result of strong collaborations and working relationships. He always enjoys the process of working closely with talented directors, designers, producers and musicians, and is constantly on the lookout for more opportunities.
