'THE NEARNESS OF YOU' ~ Produced & arranged by James Gardiner featuring Russian singer 'Veronika' and blues guitarist John Garcia . A remake of a classic popular song, written in 1938 by Hoagy Carmichael with lyrics by Ned Washington.  The song was featured in the Paramount Pictures film 'Romance in the Dark', which was released in 1938 starring Gladys Swarthout, John Barrymore and John Boles.

Composed and Produced by James Gardiner. This song tells the story of a young minority profiled as being guilty when innocent. Featuring rap artist 'BlaqueIce' and rock singer Robert Schubert aka 'Absolute Black'. This track infuses a symphonic score with intricate sound designs, against an infectious hip-hop beat, layered with soaring rock guitars.

Gardiner co-founded two prominent recording studios, PAJAMA Studios, which he built with business partner Paula Telander in Jack London Square of Oakland, California in 1993 and Live Oak Studios of Berkeley, California in 1981. PAJAMA is recognized as Oakland’s first world-class commercial recording facility.

Gardiner also founded in 2006, Gardiner Music Mentoring (GMM), providing personalized mentorship, hands-on curriculum with world-class special mentors. A place where students can learn, create and fulfill possibilities in the real world of music production, engineering, composition and performance.
