A warm welcome to Sonson, who’s delivering the goods with the fantastic “My Blues EP”. 
The original took our hearts by storm with its silky-smooth live piano, effortlessly floating over a constantly driving, simple yet effective and uplifting groove work. So we immediately made plans for a full release with the talented Munich DJ and producer with whom we have been friends for years. It didn’t take long until Michael, Sonson’s real name, came up with the great idea of asking his old pal and French house don Franck Roger to remix the tune - an artist all of us deeply admire for his unique body of work and ongoing contribution to our scene (Real Tone, Earthrumental, countless nights at Paris’ Djoon club you name it). Luckily he’s been digging the tune and made two utterly great versions by adding his magic - the uplifting Earthrumental Mix that sticks with the piano and a Dubthrumental that fully lives up to its name. The package is rounded off by Sonson’s “My Dub” and “My Beat” versions and whereas the dub is a bit more stripped back, dropping off the piano while adding some trippy synth textures, the beat is just a perfect tool for the working DJ. Voila!
Sonson is the latest project by Michael Heumann, an experienced DJ and producer from Munich. Born and raised in the city that serves as both his home and source of inspiration, he began his DJ career in the 2000s with sets initially heavily influenced by US house music. Over time, he explored various genres within electronic music, developing his own distinctive style that consistently takes his audience on a musical journey. 

In addition to numerous performances in national and international clubs, Michael has been a resident DJ at the legendary Munich club Pimpernel since 2017, and has also been responsible for DJ bookings there since 2024. He places a strong emphasis on collaborating with local DJs and producers to enrich the Munich scene and present fresh, exciting line-ups. 

As a producer, Sonson has already celebrated several successes: his tracks have been released on labels such as Diynamic, Aprapta and Barré Music and in early 2025, an EP will be released on the renowned Munich label Compost Records. Sonson is also known for his edits of artists like Depeche Mode, Billie Eilish, Kendrick Lamar and Everything But the Girl, which have since become staples in the sets of DJ icons like Solomun, Dixon and Trikk.

Laroye, who also recently remixed a Galliano track for Brownswood, delivered an ethereal tune with much musical respect to the original club hit. Moodorama (recently remixed Jazzanova, youANDme) present a version with an extra delicious pump. Chocolate Garage Production from Cologne stripped the airy house serenade down to the bone, while Inkswel cutting it to a new broken beat hemisphere. 

London - Marrakech multi-instrumentalists duo with uplifting afro house meets the Chicago loft house vibe. An electrifying and virtuosic performance. 

Merhba means welcome in Arabic and it's a traditional Moroccan Gnawa song that we tried to revisit with an afro house touch combined with a lofty chicago house vibe. Think Ron Trent/Joe Claussell influences.  

Beatkozina is an electronic and world music duo based between London and Marrakech made up of Mehdi Naami (DJ, musician, and producer) and Gregory Jouandon (jazz drummer, pianist, composer, and producer).
Both multi-instrumentalists, they share a strong passion for electronic music as well as world music. 

Beatkozina is the fruit of this interesting artistic encounter. Their collaboration draws its energy from the Afro matrix as well as a wide range of influences from North African, the Middle East, Indian traditional music, jazz, and Afro-Latin music.
Their sound is tied to researching African rhythmic and pentatonic mutations within new ecosystems including Latin America, the Caribbean, and the United States. They perform a connexion between Electro and Afro trances through the identification of Moroccan rhythmic patterns, minimalism, transposition, and confrontation producing a tribal, complex, contemporary sound that carries a subliminal message of universality and identity at the same time.

After Yuu Udagawa’s highly acclaimed EPs “Ride It” & “Peaceful Dawn” from last year, she’s back again in full effect presenting four classy, sophisticated and timeless jazz-electronica-house hybrid tracks for Compost.

About Yuu Udagawa
Yuu, who studied art and philosophy in high school, has since performed at clubs, festivals and fashion shows and is now a regular in the lounges of five-star hotels like the Park Hyatt Tokyo, showcasing her versatility as a DJ. Drawing on her insights and extensive experience in creating musical atmospheres in various spaces, she continues expanding her musical creation journey. 
In 2010, she composed "Blossom," the main menu BGM for Sony PlayStation 3 (Torne and Vita), captivating gamers. After that, she released several tracks for various projects. In 2021, her music caught the eye of German artist Manuel Tur, leading to her music being released through prestigious labels such as Compost Records in Munich, Germany, Cyphon Recordings in London, founded by Jimpster and Tom Roberts, to the up-and-coming Cosmocities Records in Dijon, France, and the popular Razer- N-Tape in Brooklyn, USA. These collaborations have boosted her international visibility. She was invited by Freerange Records in London to deliver a DJ MIX on Apple Music to celebrate International Women's Day 2024.

Founded in 1998, Moodorama is a music collective from Regensburg that is dedicated to electronic music. Furthermore, influences from jazz, lounge music, bossa nova and house enrich their music. The collective consists of Martin Sennebogen, Alexander Eggl (1997-1999), Robert Zierhofer (1999-2003), Kerstin Huber and Marco Köstler. Six albums were produced between 1998 and 2012 for labels like Mole Listening Pearls, Audiopharm and Stereo Deluxe/Shadow Records. In addition, song material is represented on over 180 samplers. Recently they delivered remixes on Compost Records for Inkswel & Colonel Red, youANDme & Black Soda and Beatkozina. Exciting blend of organic and electrifiying house, ethereal melodies, encapsulates a lot of variety (as we like) remixes for the purist house heads as well as for fans of deep leftfield house or twisted groove addicts.

Marbert Rocel, the East German indie pop’n’jazz sensation and live band just brought their third album “Small Hours” to life, capturing a deep sense for beats, smoking, songs, indie pop trips including leftfield house- and jazzy affairs. As Groove magazine wrote “...an album finally progressed their own stunning charm into a higher sphere of danceable indie pop”. Well, it’s true, Marbert Rocel music is light and sunny, but they working hard with patience, belief, a lot of cigarettes, and dozens of live gigs around Europe, to spread their charm with passion and a wicked glints in their eyes. There is this lack of pretention in their music which everybody loves, actually people from the techno, soul, jazz or pop worlds even all seems to be convinced. Together with Mathias Kaden, they formed the project Karocel and released the highly acclaimed album “Plaited” on Freude Am Tanzen.

Marek Hemmann has grown into the electronic music as a hunter, collector and true connaisseur of tones and sonics. It all began in the beginning of the 90’s with a guitar whose sonic spectrum was far too limited for him. The discovery of the samplers and the synthesizers suddenly opened new possibilities where the acoustic world could be conserved; it was now possible with sound and noise on synthesizers to create what the human ear has never before experienced. The reason for the sonic passion was delivered to him via the techno parties late 90’s in his home area of Gera which was soon a weekly anchor for electronic experimentation. Here was to be found deep and delightful connections with people, rhymes, light and sounds. Until the first live gigs would come just a few years later, he made music for himself and his flat mates. This emboldened him to eventually begin to play his music live, leaving behind self-doubt and found with his first gig his calling as a live act. From then on he refined and improved his sets from which grew the distinctive Marek Hemmann sound; a sound with a minimum on technique but rather a very wide diversity of noise and tonal sensibility. The result is a substantially reduced electronic dance music which having a solid house foundation orbits its original state. Deep bass meets voice fragments, shakers, and percussion carry the rhythm; a funky minimal techno with plenty of space for other musical elements. Always on the search for the perfect groove and catchy melodies which fit snug and comfy in the ear. Since 2005 Marek Hemmann lives in Jena where his home, studio and label are in the immediate vicinity. Here he has the required distance for travel on the weekends, the locale allows for inspiration from the student life, and his creativity to flourish. After innumerable remixes and a handful of singles, in fall 2009 his debut album ‘In Between’ was published on the label Freude am Tanzen.

Philipp Stoya first musical experience started in the well known club "Kassablanca" which is strongly linked to a famous local label, he explored clubs like "Muna", Leipzigs "Distillery", Hamburgs "BaalSaal", Berlin ́s "Kleine Reise" or notorious "Berghain", After his first released track "Triohu" on Compost Black Label #83, Philipp decided to take a little distance from clubbing and get more focused on producing. He lingers this summer at "Fusion Festival" sitting right next to the "Turmbühne" where he thought about what Christian Prommer said: "It is not about getting coolness, it ́s about to be satisfied with your own production and see how the music reaches the people on a emotional level.“ Philipp’s tune „Ransd“ i spart oft he Compost Black Label Series Vol.5 – compilation and he also just delivered some nice remix works for Madpac (Black Label #101) and Siff Licious’ „Fisten“ on the new imprint Glenn Dancer.

As a founder and member of Marbert Rocel, Panthera Krause just started to channel his own immense creative output by releasing his solo debut EP „Yorikke“ earlier this year on Riotvan. Further he ́s a talented graphic designer being responsible for the wonderful artworks that decorate the album releases, website, videos etc. of Marbert Rocel and also the Karocel album.

Talski is a young musician/producer from Leipzig (Germany). He was born in 1991 and grew up in a family with an affinity for classical and jazz music, so he began to play the piano and saxophon soon. Now he’s studying music in Leipzig. Besides his work in many bands he produces electronical music, artificially and for the dancefloor. His music is influenced by jazz, classical, house and dark techno music.

When Tobi and Bastian (Heitzberg Theorem) first met they didn’t really like each other. They basically never talked. Why? Years later nobody knows for sure. Working together didn’t make things easier. However one day, when they were forced to spend their lunch together they did talk: as it turned out both were pretty surprised how much alike they felt when it came to music. So they decided to team up and produce a couple of tracks. Bastian (born and raised in Ulm) has a straight forward musical background: he’s an educated Audio Engineer and a Bachelor of Recording Arts. As Bastian, Tobi started early with producing the musical support for his Munich-based poetry label Perplex. After a creative but very frustrating phase of combining their different musical styles (a broad variety from Drum ‘n’ Bass, to House, Techno, UK Garage and Post-Dubstep) they threw all of their initial ideas away and started from scratch. As a result Heitzberg Theorem now concentrates on what’s really important to them: producing bassy, heavy and danceable UK-influenced house music. Watch out and listen to their fantastic 12inch on Compost Black Label # 102.

Both Pete Bandit and Jason Shae have been playing music for over a decade. They got infected with the ‘virus’ after hearing their first tracks over at a friends house and they’ve been ‘sick’ ever since. The first years it was techno, techno and techno. Looking up to guys like Plastikman, James Ruskin and Speedy J, it was understandable that they also made the transition to minimal, or microhouse like it was called back in the 2003 days. Pete Bandit & Jason Shae kept on exploring their own personal tastes of music and playing records was the best way to do so. They found each other in a mix of French funk, Chicago house and stripped down Berlin house. The duo’s fame as DJs is growing larger gig by gig. Stealing the heart of every party freak, bass addict and music lover with a great, steady, rocking groove that takes us back to the Chicago, Miami and New York sounds from the past. Their careers are blooming, but their potentials haven’t fully been used yet; without doubt we will hear a lot more from these two in the following years!

Radio Diffusion is an electronic music project founded by Hans Staudinger and Sebastian Badics - both DJs, producers and passionate music enthusiasts. Call it fate, coincidence or simply great timing, their paths crossed on a music event on a farm in the wilderness of Upper Austria. Soon they discovered their mutual romantic idea about electronic music and they joined forces in order to lift their power to a whole new level.
Of course neither of them are unknown in the Austrian music scene – lost in the Viennese downtempo-hype of the late 90s, Hans Staudinger already gained stage-experiences with live-electronic performances and residencies in eminent clubs such as FLEX and Donau. By 2006, he was co-founder of Flex Vinyls and a year later he published his first release "Now and Then", which clearly reflected his love for Chicago house. Hooked on techno and underground house, he started collecting vintage synthesizers and developed his producing skills while continuing his work on his farm.
While always feeling a great passion and appreciation for electronic music, it was during the late 90's that Sebastian Badics started to buy his own techno and house vinyl. From that point forward it did not take long until he began playing his own gigs at secret afterparties on a farm near Linz, which quickly led to various small but vastly successful events during the following years. While still producing techno and house in his home studio until 2004, his love from Drum n Bass eventually triggered a change in style. Only a year later, in 2005, he did Drum n Bass / Reggae events in some of Linz's most famous locations like the Tunnel, Posthof or Cembran Keller, quickly gaining more popularity among fans of the scene. While music was his passion, he still finished his studies in 2009 and started working at the renowned Ars Electronica Center, one of Linz's most well known attractions.
In 2010 Hans Staudinger teamed up with Sebastian Badics and RADIO DIFFUSION was born as an authentic’n’synergetic strike duo with a clear-cut course: REALNESS & EGALITÉ! Delivering their precious tunes on a par with their beloved crowd, their live-sets are always a well balanced blend of references to the past, snapshots of the present and their own progress.
Their biggest hit was a release with Compost Records in spring 2013. The single “BHVL” caught the attention of a huge audience and has been broadcasted on several radio stations in Austria (e.g. FM4) and beyond.
Heavy baselines, driving synth chords, sophisticated drum-programming – that’s the world of RADIO DIFFUSION!

Welcome to the fourth chapter of the ELASTE series!
In this compilation I am progressing a style I am inaugurating: Vintage Futurism.

The best metaphor for this genre is Charanjit Singh's 1982 album Ten Ragas to a Disco Beat in which he created a sound which mirrors, but more importantly pre-dates, the first acid house record by five years. It is no novelty record, but truly capturing the hypnotic potential of acid/house music. It became my key track for Elaste Volume 4.
Previous incarnations of Elaste have aimed to catch the spirit of the late 70’s Italian Cosmic Discotheque, a place where the history of DJing was rewritten within this microcosm. For this latest instalment I was most intrigued by weird of-the-time (or ‘out-of’ as the case turned out to be) electronic disco, a vast genre!

Bringing together those progressive avant-garde tracks that were expanding the genres of house, disco, acid, new wave; and ultimately use Elaste as a vehicle to highlight those tracks that were ahead of their time. These legendary works ranges from 1978 to 1996, a wide spectrum of musical history, in which some of the older tracks may sound modern, and newer ones sound may sound vintage.

Many of these authentic back-to-the-aural-future moments were initial sparks for whole genres - Larry Heard ́s Disco-D alias happened just before house music. Michael Rinder ́s Gluttony can’t be called Disco any more, not even Post-Disco.

About Dompteur Mooner
Mooner stepped into the limelight as part of Zombie Nation, whose 1999 smash hit 'Kernkraft 400' was signed to DJ Hell's Gigolo label and earned worldwide chart success. As one of the most knowledgeable experts in obscure vintage electronic music, Mooner however decided to do things a little less obvious from that point on: He left Zombie Nation and founded Erkrankung durch Musique, a label dedicated to releasing left-field electronica, from techno to experimental pop, old and new.

He also a highly regarded DJ, known for his unmatched record collection and bootleg edits, such as his „Girls Girls Girls“ Ep that combined great 80s girl bands as extented edits, or „Greatest Hits“, an hommage to dance – orientaed Rock music.

Mooner just finished his fourth chapter of „Elaste“, a compilation series for Compost Records that started the Cosmic Disco hype.

High Heels Breaker: „I wanted to write a soulful and electronic song with the idea to leave it as empty as possible by using the minimum of music notes and rhythms. Nowadays we are massivly flooded with (social media) data so that I prefer airy Come Easyand empty music.“

How did the collaboration with singer Sarah Palin come about?
High Heels Breaker: “Zurich’s music scene is not that big. We know each other from the cooperation with swiss rapper Big Zis and met thru my mate Sacha Winkler aka Kalabrese. I called her on a monday morning and asked her, if she’s in and if she could write some lyrics in the following 1-2 months. I sent her the track, she agreed and the following friday the vocals were recorded. During the recording session I got goose bumps, her lyrics about an unwanted breakup is just touching.“

Renowned producers and DJs like Dave Aju (label buddy of Nicolas Jaar), David August and Kalabrese just did remixes for Come Easy. Were they inspired rather from the music or the lyrics?

High Heels Breaker: “I think, the song is good, because music, lyrics and vocals are merging. They probably all felt the universal pain, the reduced instrumentation and of course the soul in it. That’s why they were easily convinced of doing a remix...“

About Anna Schreit
Anna was born and raised in Berlin, into a family of a musician who exposed her to a diverse range of music genres from a very young age. Her father's art rock band was one of her earliest influences, shaping her understanding of music and its various forms.
Despite living in the techno capital, it was actually during a trip to Munich that Anna was introduced to the world of electronic music. It was here that she discovered the exotic sounds of house music, which proved to be a turning point for her musical journey. She was captivated by the diverse sub-genres within house music, and it became a defining characteristic of her style - constantly diving and resurfacing through a multitude of sub-genres.
After falling in love with the endless possibilities of house music, Anna began DJing in 2012 to share the tracks she had collected and built up over the years. Her goal was to create immersive experiences and take her listeners on unique journeys through her sets. With a passion for music that runs deep, Anna continues to explore and experiment with new sounds, always striving to evolve and push the boundaries of what's possible within electronic music!

Corrado Bucci is a young Italian musician, producer and DJ. Since the previous works 'Brooklyn' and 'Chewing Bubble' (Rebirth Records) the young italian musician and producer has been gaining great support in the electronic scene. He explored new musical territories and started to play real instruments, refining his artistic expression! The original took our hearts by storm with its silky-smooth live piano, effortlessly floating over a constantly driving, simple yet effective and uplifting groove work. So we immediately made plans for a full release with the talented Munich DJ and producer with whom we have been friends for years. It didn’t take long until Michael, Sonson’s real name, came up with the great idea of asking his old pal and French house don Franck Roger to remix the tune - an artist all of us deeply admire for his unique body of work and ongoing contribution to our scene (Real Tone, Earthrumental, countless nights at Paris’ Djoon club you name it). Luckily he’s been digging the tune and made two utterly great versions by adding his magic - the uplifting Earthrumental Mix that sticks with the piano and a Dubthrumental that fully lives up to its name. The package is rounded off by Sonson’s “My Dub” and “My Beat” versions and whereas the dub is a bit more stripped back, dropping off the piano while adding some trippy synth textures, the beat is just a perfect tool for the working DJ. Voila!

Sonson is the latest project by Michael Heumann, an experienced DJ and producer from Munich. Born and raised in the city that serves as both his home and source of inspiration, he began his DJ career in the 2000s with sets initially heavily influenced by US house music. Over time, he explored various genres within electronic music, developing his own distinctive style that consistently takes his audience on a musical journey. 

In addition to numerous performances in national and international clubs, Michael has been a resident DJ at the legendary Munich club Pimpernel since 2017, and has also been responsible for DJ bookings there since 2024. He places a strong emphasis on collaborating with local DJs and producers to enrich the Munich scene and present fresh, exciting line-ups. 

As a producer, Sonson has already celebrated several successes: his tracks have been released on labels such as Diynamic, Aprapta and Barré Music and in early 2025, an EP will be released on the renowned Munich label Compost Records. Sonson is also known for his edits of artists like Depeche Mode, Billie Eilish, Kendrick Lamar and Everything But the Girl, which have since become staples in the sets of DJ icons like Solomun, Dixon and Trikk.

Merhba means welcome in Arabic and it's a traditional Moroccan Gnawa song that we tried to revisit with an afro house touch combined with a lofty chicago house vibe. Think Ron Trent/Joe Claussell influences.  

Beatkozina is an electronic and world music duo based between London and Marrakech made up of Mehdi Naami (DJ, musician, and producer) and Gregory Jouandon (jazz drummer, pianist, composer, and producer).
Both multi-instrumentalists, they share a strong passion for electronic music as well as world music. 

Beatkozina is the fruit of this interesting artistic encounter. Their collaboration draws its energy from the Afro matrix as well as a wide range of influences from North African, the Middle East, Indian traditional music, jazz, and Afro-Latin music.
Their sound is tied to researching African rhythmic and pentatonic mutations within new ecosystems including Latin America, the Caribbean, and the United States. They perform a connexion between Electro and Afro trances through the identification of Moroccan rhythmic patterns, minimalism, transposition, and confrontation producing a tribal, complex, contemporary sound that carries a subliminal message of universality and identity at the same time.

After Yuu Udagawa’s highly acclaimed EPs “Ride It” & “Peaceful Dawn” from last year, she’s back again in full effect presenting four classy, sophisticated and timeless jazz-electronica-house hybrid tracks for Compost.

The title track Golden Glow is a electric samba-infused broken beat gem, with joyful vocal melodies and a superfunky bassline creating a truly elevated vibe.

Reverie comes in smooth slow-motion house guise. Yuu's ethereal vocal interludes unfold in interplay with playful piano improvisations, underpinned by an irresistible groove.

The track “One More” seems to come straight out of a smoky jazz club. Jazzy piano sounds meet plucked double bass, underlaid with dreamy synth pads and Yuu's whispers from the twilight zone.

This 2-tracker contains a unbelievably deep signature remix by our man Shahrokh Dini, which is making waves already for a while now! Michael Marshelli convinces with a cosmic lush disco approach, giving the original’s smooth vocal the right treat.

The Düsseldorf duo BAR, consisting of Stabil Elite musician Lucas Croon and Christina Irrgang, released their debut album „Welcome To Bar“, a musical hybrid between New Wave, Balearic, Shoegaze, Dream Pop and Noir Songwriting, in June 2014 on Italic Recordings. Lucas Croon sings as if he had studied with Nick Cave, Brian Ferry and Chris Isaac. The lady at his side, Christina Irrgang, is no less elegant: Her timbre seems completely absorbed in the music, and yet it somehow floats above it, bold and cool. The effect is reminiscent of Claudia Brücken from the Düsseldorf synthpop band Propaganda, whose magical coldness was simply an extremely fascinating form of white soul.

"Welcome to BAR" is recorded, produced and emotionally arranged on various synthesizers, the drums, with film soundtrack samples, vocal collages and instruments such as the pocket piano, which Croon and Irrgang became aware of in Los Angeles through their acquaintance with Diva Dompé, the daughter of Bauhaus drummer Kevin Haskins. Passion can be felt in everything they say, sing and play. Passion for love, for nights in a neon glow, for dark pulsating bass lines, black and white romance, driving synth beats and the affectionately playful "À Rebours" – aestheticism with no objection to the natural.

Righteous Red Berets is an ode to Stakerlee who kills another man cause he cheated his cards and we also hear from Reverend Jim Jones as he preaches hope from his mass graves.
Luke Vibert (a hero of mine since the late 90s), reinterprets the track with his unique brand of Funk and Soul that adds some love to a desperate song. 

Bag of Bones is my personal balad to a life with the lights turned off. Just me and my guitar. Shane Cooper (AKA Card on Spokes) adds his beautiful double bass to this track and helps it breath life.
Kill the Boer is a Remix of my 2002 Kwaito Bass classic "Donkey Rattle". I base the remix around a sample of a Toy Toy from Soweto 1960 to speak about the current "revolution" with a different government but with the same despair

Laolu & Raoul K’s excellent debut EP for Compost Records is the perfect amalgamation of state of the art housemusic, african rhythm- and soundtextures being topped by the deep and spiritual vocals of Ahmed Sosso.

It’s not the first fruitful collaboration of Geneva based Laolu and Raoul K who’s living in Lübeck – a contemplative small town in the north of Germany. With their collective effort on „Sene Kela“, released on Raoul’s label Baobab in 2014, the duo easily brigded the gap between their african roots and modern house, between deepness and rave appeal. A truly adorable piece of dance music that deeply touched and left a lasting impression on Compost Records head honcho Michael Reinboth, who licensed the song for his long standing „Future Sounds of Jazz“ compilation series immediately. With „Djougou Yah“, Laolu and Raoul K are picking up this vibe again but turning the wheel even further – delivering two marvelous versions of the song. Besides the musical and magnificently orchestrated and arranged Original there’s the Perc Mix. With its punchy Kick drum, stripped back percussion work, striking synth arpeggios and an epic breakdown it’s got this perfect peaktime and festival appeal to it. The lyrics and vocals are written and performed by the african singer and musician Ahmed Sosso whose unique voice already pleased our ears on Manoo & Raoul K’s Innervisions „Toukan EP“ from last year. Music with a message – music that went straight into our hearts!

A mesmerizing trip from Krautland through Electronic Fields to Hypnotonia‒exploring the textures of haunting melodies, lucious dreamscapes and tribal, dancefloor-ready beats. After their highly acclaimed debut album “Im Klanggarten” (on Bigamo – label of Frank Wiedemann / Âme), this is Fred und Luna’s next fascinating step in their “Elektrokraut/Krautelektro” series.

Who are Fred und Luna?
"Fred und Luna" are two mannequins living in a fashion boutique in Karlsruhe, Germany. They serve as muse for musician, lector, poet and photo/video maker Rainer Buchmüller.
Inspired by his doll friends and his love for German electronic music of the past decades, Rainer Buchmüller under the alias “Fred und Luna” produces his self-created genres Elektrokraut and Krautelektro: both a modern combination of repetitive rhythms, beautiful melodies, electronic soundscapes and elements from the Krautrock era.
Under the name of “Ariston Baton” Rainer Buchmüller also writes and performs sound poems and concrete poetry. On live events and especially on exhibitions Ariston Baton is joining “Fred und Luna” and Rainer Buchmüller’s third identity “Vizudaru Nono”, who is contributing video and photo projections. Together they form the so called “Equipe Nadaphysique”. The next exhibition featuring all three named personalities will take place end of October 2018 at Rockomotives Festival, Vendôme/France.

A brief history of Fred und Luna
Having previously released the EP “Glück auf” on the Scottish label Optimo Music and being remixed by Prins Thomas for the Berlin label Innervisions, the year 2017 saw Fred und Luna feature their debut album “Im Klanggarten” on Frank Wiedemann’s (Âme, Howling) newly-founded label Bigamo Musik.

After the first editions of both the EP and LP being sold out quickly, live shows in Germany, France and England followed as well as remixes for Peter Pardeike (Connaisseur Recordings) and a common release with Trikk on Innervisions, among others.
A team-up with Achim Treu (UFO Hawaii) resulted in several remixes for international musicians.

After one and a half decade and more than 400 releases, Compost Records bundles some of their finest tunes as Various Artists digital download compilation albums.
The variety and full spectrum of Compost’s repertoire has never or rarely been presented in form of a musical genre compilation. These releases will be compiled or DJ-mixed by Compost’s artists and are available as digital downloads, except in some rare cases very very limited as 500 CDs.

Again a dancefloor oriented remixes selection from self-proclaimed Compost Head Selectahs Rupert & Mennert. After the first successful volume they dived into some other genres, but the fine tracks that were left out in the first edition were always whispering and luring them back. So they started selecting again and after a while a new mix was assembled with maybe even bigger remixers. Maybe even the biggest that Compost ever released.

Who are Rupert&Mennert?
They reside in Den Helder, The Netherlands. One of the most beautiful cities in the world. From there they send their music into the wide world. They broadcast a highly irregular radioshow called Weird Pigs. They remix tracks and invent new concepts about making music.
Together with Me Raabenstein they released, as Lagerfeltz, an avant-garde album called Aar, on Nonine Recordings, Berlin.Together with remix-work for Energie du Verre, (twice) Ensemble du Verre (Batterie Records, Hamburg) and Timo Garcia (Compost) their release-roster is building.
The cherry on the cake is the selection of two of their remixes on the new Future Sounds of Jazz Vol. 12 (handpicked by the Compost head-honcho himself). Currently a remix for Marbert.Rocel is in the making and a new big secret project on Compost Records will see the light in the next year. This project is called: Brain Connection Series and more info is coming soon.
And of course you can expect more Compost Selections from their hand too. They just finished the Compost Female Vocals Selections Volume 1. Now the male vocalists will be put together into a selection too.

Here comes the fourth teaser for the 25 years Compost anniversary 10x12” – box-set. And what a stellar one. First of all, Lorenz Rhode “Back” in a Purple Disco Machine remix. The original was a 12” B-side hidden gem, released 2007 on Compost, but it caused a worldwide stir and became a true worldwide underground hit in the break dance scene. Dozens of break dancers, crews and schools used “Back” for their break dance rehearsals. We have cut a nice video of ca. 20 dancers and crews, which we found on YouTube, showing their amazing moves and grooves with “Back” in background. And to top that: Purple Disco Machine lays his funky disco hands onto it! 2018 was the year for Purple Disco Machine with four of the biggest dance tracks, with almost a few hundred million streams, various No 1 charts hits and as a high point: #2 “Beatport Artist Of All Time”. Nuff said.

Liquid Phonk’s “Starwalk” is a wonderful blax-ploited disco-house ride. It’s one of Michael Reinboth’s favorite tracks of the 25 years anniversary 10x12” box set (out of 42 tracks). Another hit maker brings down a round figure: Spiller, do you remember his world hit “Groovejet” from 2000, he gave the Trüby Trio “Make A Move” a kinda 80’s ska-disco skank groove. Very funny uplifting. Enjoy.

Here’s the second 12" release taken from Mr Raoul K's album 'African Paradigm'. It starts out with two mixes of 'Bara', which were previously unavailable on vinyl.
Manoo and Mr Raoul K head straight towards the dancefloor: gritty drums, driving synths. In a true wild pitch manner, they build a massive stack of sound and groove which gets knocked over into a nice break that gives plenty of room for Ahmed Sosso's vocals.
The second track, deceivingly named 'Slowmotion' is all about motion: Skippy beats never stop. They keep feet and heads moving. Sounds rising from far away move through the room and echo away (don't panic you'll get a little breather before the end)
On the flipside, Auztin Pauers & Ezrael transform 'O Mera Dil' into a lush yet groovy pieced for late night crowds. Laid back beats, Fender Rhodes-esque keyboard sounds, an organic feel and Lady Parul's vocals are put together so smoothly - like a comfy sweater that keeps you warm while you dance into the morning.
For the last track, Mr Raoul K's long time collaborator Kuniyuki presents his take on 'African Paradigm'. His mix takes his time to collect and incorporate inspiration from all six chapters of 'African Paradigm', using mesmerizing, airy strings to join all pieces. Kuniyuki transforms Mr Raoul K's journey through the history of Africa into a journey through a day. Starting sleepy in the morning, getting more and more busy throughout the day. Then getting some rest, take a nap and prepare to have some fun in the evening.

Hendrik Wilhelms first release saw the light of the day in 1989, when he was 16 years old. He founded Toolbox Music in Viernheim with 3 partners. All the first releases on labels like Compose Records, Generator Records, UCA, Time Unlimited, Urban, Boy Records a.o. were recorded in the Viernheim Studio. During the Nineties the studio moved to Walldorf at the Session Kulturwerk, where Hendrik Wilhelm produced more than 100 releases & remixes, plus live shows with Deaf Nuts (Stereophonie- BMG) & Studio 69 feat. Karl Frierson. One of their productions entered Hollywood, as an soundtrack for an animation-film. After the closing of Toolbox Music Hendrik Wilhelms constructed and was part of the establishment at the Anixe Studios at Musikpark Manneim.

Info: After one and a half decade and more than 400 releases, Compost Records bundles some of their finest tunes as Various Artists digital download compilation albums. The variety and full spectrum of Compost’s repertoire has never or rarely been presented in form of a musical genre compilation. These releases will be compiled or DJ-mixed by Compost’s artists and are available as digital downloads, except in some rare cases very very limited as 500 CDs.

Ever since the beginning of electronic music the voice was considered an instrument that shouldn’t be forgotten. So when everybody considered the beats and the bass as the King, there was still love for vocals. Sometimes to create an atmosphere of tribalism with its own mantras, sometimes as a work of poetry. But always present.

From the depths of the Compost vaults vocal tracks were selected and mixed by Rupert & Mennert. Compost and Rupert & Mennert are more than proud to present two shining examples of all the great songs that were sung and produced in the last two decades.

Could one say that this particular ‘Compost Selection’ defines a genre? Well... not entirely. Do all the great vocalists that sang on an immense amount of Compost releases deserve their own spotlight? Well... hell yes!

The first take has the appropriate sub-title: Brothers.

On this very compilation, fourteen tracks are selected and mixed together. With vocal contributions by Robert Owens, Victor Davies, Colonel Red, Marc Frank, Joseph Malik, Ovasoul 7, Jamie Lloyd, Ernesto and many more. The tracks will go back and forth through all kinds of genres. From the deep folk electronic of Zwicker , the latin-jazz by Intuit and the spoken word by General Electrics to the beats by Wagon Cookin’, Daniel Magg, Phreek Plus One and TJ Kong & Nuno dos Santos. Giving you post broken beats by Beanfield and Kyoto Jazz Massive. Ending with some classic crooning from Les Gammas and funky soul by Muallem and Alex Attias.
