  Hiphouse was only "big" for about 8 months in 1989 immediately following the acid house craze and even then only in certain clubs, but the bass, beats and production immensely influenced the next generation of producers and DJ's. Copyright law would prohibit most of these tracks from being written nowadays but in 1989 nobody knew enough to care. Great times.

Compost Theory aim is to to create music that helps to relax the listener and to recycle thoughts and emotions. Although a big fan of music such as dub, jazz, ska, blues, and electronica we try to borrow ideas from these styles rather than to make each track easily identifiable as being from a particular genre. Compost Theory combines original sounds including live drums, percussion, guitar, bass and keyboards with found objects as well as playing with lots of effects and a large, old mixing console.
