Berlin's new hottest residents Eric Volta & Sebastian Voigt team up once again, this time bringing their infectiously deep and dark edge onto the Visionquest imprint. With intoxicating dreamy synths, title track 'Words And Chance' opens up into real groover with the seductively haunting lyrics from rising artist Forrest adding a new dimension. On the flip one quarter of the Visionquest power force Lee Curtiss takes the reins to deliver a chugging dancefloor ready remix with effective play on the vocal. Eric Volta then goes solo with 'One Last More?' riding out through rolling percussion with beautiful textures.

Back in February, My Favorite Robot released an excellent full length album from accomplished DJ and producer Andrew Grant in his Naome guise. It proved a treasure trove of hits for dancers and DJs alike, and now the Canadian label revisit it for some expertly enlisted remixes. Speaking Minds, System of Survival, Nitin and Daniel Kyo all step up and breath plenty of their own unique character into the still stunning source material. Speaking Minds is the union of Simone Sinatti and Marco Paladin, an Italian pair that has released on this label before now. Their version of 'Kosmatic' is a slow burning, spiritually arresting track that is epic in the most reserved of ways. With slithering synth lines and reflective chords it lulls you into a trance and sooth your mind with its lush sense of musicality. System of Survival is another Italian pair, this time made up of Alex Carpentieri and Pietro De Lisi. They are veterans of labels like Get Physical and BPitch Control and their remix of Great Escape feat. Ony is a groovy, organic affair with warm chords, romantic vibes and loose limbed precision in its bones. Whispered vocals add a steamy sexiness and it's a standout track as a result. And so to Nitin, a key member of the MFR family and a revered talent who also lights up his No 19 Music label which he co-owns with Art Department's Jonny White. His revision of 'Wherewe' feat. Nanni is a lumpy and bumpy deep house roller with smeared chords, a sense of late night laziness to it and a wealth of human chords that strike right at your heart. It's magical and memorable in equal measure. Last but not least, Spaniard Daniel Kyo has emerged as a fine modern day beat maker thanks to outings on Poker Flat and Sincopat, as well as for his charismatic DJ sets along side the likes of Carl Craig and Larry Heard as resident at Minicab in his native Valencia. He has also headlined places like Panorama Bar in Berlin so is very much an ascending 2015 star. He tackles 'Spacestation' feat. Symbol and flips it into a gurgling, slow mo, no wave disco track with ticking arps, sticky drums and dreamy, drifting vocals that are sure to soundtrack many a great summer party. This is a fantastic package that not only reminds us how great the originals were, but that also proves MFR has its finger on the pulse when it comes to talented remixes from around the world.

2015 saw Damian Lazarus create his most ambitious project to date in The Ancient Moons, producing a full length album ‘Message From The Other Side’ with a wide assortment of vocalists and collaborators from around the world. They went on to support Roisin Murphy on tour, gain acclaim from the likes of Dazed & Confused and Lazarus became the final coverstar of the year in the UK”s Mixmag magazine.

Now the tracks from ‘The Other Side’ have been reinterpreted by an assortment of stars, from techno stalwarts Juan Atkins & Kimyon Huggins, to German experimental talent Kölsch, and Acid Pauli’s sprawling fusion of weirdness. The original material is ploughed in new and surprising directions by Black Butter’s own Gorgon City and Mehmet Asian, resident at Berlin’s infamous Wilde Renate club.

Talent from Lazarus’ label Crosstown Rebels, including Francesca Lombardo, DrumTalk and Israeli trio Red Axes also produce their own visions for the music, all of which retain the mysticism of the original with added dancefloor appeal. The final four tracks revisit some of the biggest moments from the Moons to date, as the album revisits interpretations from Jamie Jones, Dixon, Serge Devant and &Me.

Co-produced by James Ford (Simian Mobile Disco, Arctic Monkeys, Florence & The Machine), The Ancient Moons was always a unique project, which has now been stretched to include the flavours of some of the most exciting artists shaping the musical landscape right now.

Recorded in Mexico, LA and London, ‘The Other Side’ features instrumentalists from Mozambique, Guinea, Pakistan, Egypt, America and even Mexico’s own Yucatan Symphony Orchestra.

Starting this new cycle of releases on Not Another, we are glad to have one of our favorite artists on board again.

From his Red Bull Music Academy residency to gigs on Lebanons finest venues and big festivals such as Sonar Barcelona, Etyen is delivering his live act and spreading his passion across the globe, getting huge support for his music. His production style is a mix of a wide variety of influences and we never know what to expect. For his first solo EP with us, he delivered a 3 track masterpiece that goes from deep melodic to psychedelic minimal techno which are quite hard to put on any specific genre. 

For the remix duties we invited two of the industry finests. Petar Dundov (Cocoon, Systematic) delivered a melodic anthem interpretation for Bebe that has all the credentials to be a banger during this season and will please all our followers. The second remix comes from Stelios Vassiloudis (Bedrock, Poker Flat) which stripped down & Elephant in the Room' for a hypnotic clubby piece that goes heavy on your body.

All these 5 tracks are different in style and genres but they all have that artistry feeling that we seek for Not Another. Hope you enjoy as much as we do.
