In computer science, the dining philosophers problem is an example problem often used in concurrent algorithm design to illustrate synchronization issues and techniques for resolving them.

It was originally formulated in 1965 by Edsger Dijkstra as a student exam exercise, presented in terms of computers competing for access to tape drive peripherals. Soon after, Tony Hoare gave the problem its present formulation.

Netherlands' Niels Broos and London's Hyroglifics have teamed up for the collaborative project Rippps (@rippps), unleashing their debut EP "Hue" on Alpha Pup Records (@alphapup), August 3, 2018. 

Five tracks of futuristic electronic music that blends stylistic synths and dynamic production work, "Hue" is equal parts unique, striking, and propulsive. The grooves are nonstop, and the electricity is boundless, giving the album a distinct vibe that further establishes their legacy in modern music. 

'Pose' comes blazing out of the gate right from the start, with bent and tweaked electronics running all over the map in perfect harmony. Rippps draws styles from anywhere and everywhere - Jazz, Beats, Funk, Electronic Dance and everything in between. Although quirky and off-kilter, the duo clearly has a firm grasp on their instruments and musical knowledge making their forthcoming "Hue" EP more and more enjoyable with each listen.

Recorded and shaped over the last two years, Rippps began when they met through their selection at Red Bull Music Academy Montreal 2016. The artwork on the "Hue EP" was also a result of the time they shared together at RBMA. Julian Mayorga and his wife Marta Orozco Villarrubia completed the artwork (their artist name for reference is: Poetas Menores)

Tofistock have decided to take us to the movies for their fist compilation, enlisting the help of Olsvanger, Lily Haz, and Emma de Seze among others to help us settle for the main feature, complete with popcorn, trailers and anti piracy messages.
One of the standout performances and shoe in for an Oscar nominee is Drama Goddess, with Holy Mountain. Inspired in no small part by the Alejandro Jodorowski avant garde classic, the track rings out with droney guitars distant echo of birdsong, tabla drums as a quiet psychedelia sets in and overcomes the atmosphere of the track which doesn't sound a million miles from bands like the Brian Jonestown Massacre at their very best. 
If you only see one movie this year, make it one of those big Marvel franchise films. but if you only buy one compilation based on an EP, make it Movie Makers on Tofistock.
