Intervals’ is the new record from Naarm-based musician and producer L Lewis out now on Bathtub Music. Blending jazz harmony, electronic production, and improvisation, the release expands on the sonic palette introduced in their debut. Built from live studio recordings in Naarm (Melbourne) with L Lewis, Lachlan Thompson, Finn Milne, and Jordan Dunster, the tracks were later chopped up in London by L Lewis.

The B side features remixes from local and international artists Space Ghost, Hector Plimmer, Joseph Shabason and Jonah Gabriel plus a bonus digital remix from Alex Albrecht.

US artist Danny Daze, out of Miami, has long been affiliated with the more electronic side of dance music. From the early days in the electro scene and more abstract forms of techno, the Omnidisc boss has covered a lot of musical ground since then. Helping to reimagine the underground landscape, Danny was pivotal in the early 2010s club sound with releases on Hot Creations, Ellum Audio, and Kompakt. He soon turned his attention back to the obscure side of the dancefloor and IDM. As much a music lover and dancer as he is an artist, he knows exactly what works on the dancefloor and his recent album “::BLUE::” on his own Omnidisc imprint exemplifies this ethos. For Tapes #164, A for Alpha dives deep into a sound that has long lived in her record collection: dark, dubby, and hypnotically groovy tech house from the late 90s and early 00s.

Inspired by an inspiring summer at Love International, Houghton, and other spaces that celebrate deep listening and late-night movement, this mix is a love letter to the stripped-back, rolling energy of that era. Drawing on tracks from Nathan Coles, Terry Francis, Floorbangers, Tony Hewitt, SWAG, and seminal labels like Surreal, Wiggle, and Visitor, A for Alpha unearths a raw, tribal-tinged sound that still feels vital today.

It’s a personal journey, one that explores a side of her taste not always heard in the club, but deeply rooted in their identity as a DJ. Groovy, dark, and full of low-end weight.

Sticking to the gospel roots, the 'Sacred Rhythm Praise Version' opens with an organ and piano solo before the iconic "Claussell drums" kick in followed by additional disco strings. Powerful vocals provided by Rocq-E Harrell, Muriel Blijd and Brandon Delagraentiss whilst Arp Frique’s instrumentation glues the whole track together.

Remix on the A-side and original mix on the B-side, pressed at 45RPM.
