Here is a brief description of the patch. The Octocontroller provides the primary clock pulse, patched to clock in on Stillson Hammer, and from clock out on Stillson to the Varigate 4. A quick and dirty minor-scale sequence from CV out on Stillson goes to Braids v/oct in WTFM mode. The Varigate provides a gate sequence to the trigger in on Mutant Machine, and on another channel a four-on-the-floor gate sequence to Peaks kick (drum mode). The Octocontroller provides timbral variety using three separate sample and hold CVs (clocked synced at different divisions), to the Braids timbre in, Mutant Machine membrane decay, and Mutant Machine snappy decay, respectively. The outputs of Braids, Peaks, and Mutant Machine go to the three channels of a Manhattan Analog DTM mixer (formerly known as CP3). Output from DTM to Rosie, set up with send/return through Clouds for reverb and choppy delay action (blended with original signal, so it stays in the background). During the recording take, I started with Mutant Machine only, with membrane and snappy volume all the way down (leaving only the click), then brought in Peaks kick, then the sequence from Stillson. I gradually brought in snappy, then membrane volume on the Machine. In the middle, I cut the sequence and kick for a moment to let the membrane sound take the foreground, then brought them back. After the break, I messed a bit with the Varigate repeat and delay on a few hits for rhythmic variety (arguably, not enough), and finished the recording by bringing up the volume on Clouds to drown the original signal, finally hitting freeze on Clouds to get the constant spectral bass tone at the end, faded the original signal out completely, then switched off freeze for the long reverb tail at the end. https://www.modulargrid.net/e/racks/view/275250
