I'm having a problem with a component I use.Its aligned to bottom ,and ,when form is maximized,the control is placed at the correct position,but when I attempt to minimize the form,the control stays at the position where it is.


Thus when a user has the window maximized, closes and reopens the program, and the proceeds to un-maximize the window, instead of it returning to the original position/size, it sticks at the full size/position.


The best way to solve this I found is to use the RestoreBounds structure. When a window is maximized, RestoreBounds will refer to the old (non-maximized) size and position. Here is the code to find out these values. Simply save these values upon closing, and then when the program is reopened, you can set the Width, Height, Location.X and Location.Y of the form back to these saved values.


I have useless gaps between my clients, but when I maximize a client, the gaps go away and the window takes all the space in the screen except the wibar (I'm in maximized, not in fullscreen). The gaps work fine everywhere else, it's just when one window is maxed.


I have attached a JPG showing the VI Properties that pertain to Window size. Despite the fact that I have indicated in Run-Time Position - Position: Maximized. The compiled executable does not open in a maximized window.


The window does maximize once I run the executable. The problem seems to be that LabVIEW sees no reason to deal with with windows size until the program actually runs, which is contrary to my experience with Windows programs. It also appears to override or ignore the Windows shortcut setting for OPEN (not run) maximized.


I will accept PhillipsBrooks solution as a workaround which begs the basic question about why not OPEN maximized.. None of the settings appears to make any difference until the program is actually run.


Ubuntu 18.04, latest patches, Firefox as supplied with Ubuntu, default GNOME desktop. When I was 17.04/Unity desktop (if that matters) it did re-open at same (non-maximized) size as last time I closed it. Now it sometimes does that, and that continues to work for a while, but sometimes reverts to always opening maximized, which I don't want.


As of today, for example, no matter what I do in the way of closing it, it re-opens maximized. I tried created a new temporary profile, but that didn't seem to change behaviour. I have done nothing "special" that I am aware of since it last worked, and I cannot figure how to get desired behaviour back.





Almost all applications (Firefox, Nautilus, Google Chrome, PyCharm, Skype, Calendar and other) opens in maximized size if it window size was larger than some value (more than about 80% of display width and height) when application was closed.


Does anyone know of a way to check if a given window is maximized and in the foreground? For the process I am creating it would be helpful to be able to check if a specific tab in IE is visible and maximized.


@pavanh003 I am really trying to check whether the window is maximized or not. You are right that most of the time just using the Maximize Window activity would work, but I would much prefer to be able to check this property rather than constantly re-maximizing the window.


The way that I intend to use this is as part of a recovery sequence. In order to tell the robot whether or not to enter into that recovery sequence, I need to be able to check if the window is no longer maximized (this indicates something went wrong and we need to enter the recovery). The method you sent me works for checking if the element is in the foreground (active), but it does not work for checking whether the window is maximized. I could call the Maximize activity every time I check whether the recovery needs to be run, but this would end up calling Maximize many many times. If that is the only solution
