Massive Music is the new massive mixtape from MM. It’s Dumb Dance Music – DDM – don’t think too hard about it. The EP draws on tribal house, raptor house, Dutch bubbling sounds and heavy filter techno to create six tough ‘n hard drum tools.

Single by Turkana & Authentically plastic, off forthcoming Split EP "DOXA".

As a collaborative effort from ANTI-MASS residents; Turkana, Nsasi, & Authentically Plastic, DOXA emerged from a year of group experiments & listening sessions between the three artists. It reflects their common interest in shaking up traditional forms, techniques & palettes; making them leak in all directions, discovering new tensions in familiar methods, always with an eye towards the alien & disorienting. The opening track / video “Galiba” takes its inspiration from “Kadodi”, the male circumcision ritual from Eastern Uganda, and “Baksimba”, a royal dance from the Buganda region, and reconstructs them through a decidedly perverse lens. 

A newfound affinity for the music of the Diaspora also serves as a motor for these collaborative experiments. Authentically Plastic recently spoke to Borshch Magazine about: 

“discovering the ghost of one genre in the other…all the industrial potentials of Gqom waiting to be actualised, and all those 'Gqom tendencies' in Industrial & Noise that usually go unnoticed. It has nothing to do with merging, or combining, but gliding; drawing a line between the two that is an expression in its own right."

The lead single “Diesel Femme” draws from Turkana & Authentically Plastic’s interest in Techno, Industrial & Gqom; making connections between these disparate worlds. Nsasi’s playful solo track brings to mind the loose arrangements of Chicago House in the vein of Hieroglyphic Being, or Mutant Beat Dance, just as much as it does the polyrhythmic percussion of his local culture. There’s an undeniable joy here, that comes from assembling sounds or phenomena that have nothing to do with each other, stacking them, stretching them, distorting them; sometimes beyond recognition, and other times accidentally arriving at something vaguely familiar. This openness to unpredictability is generally fuelled by Kampala’s young, but thriving underground music scene; as well as the resilient, queer friendships that have emerged from this small collective; its ethics of care & mutual support.

Rooted in their migrant experience, Club Expansivo is more than a space for music; it is a celebration of identity, resilience, and community. Their connection transcends sound, unfolding as a profound and spiritual dialogue where every beat is a gesture of unity. Through their selection, they invite us to enjoy a sensory journey, where the rhythm pulses as a collective heartbeat, resonating with shared energy, fury and emotion.
				
TIYUMII is a Venezuelan DJ and audiovisual artist based in Barcelona and a member of the Club Expansivo collective, where she fosters safe spaces for FLINTA, queer, and dissident communities. Her sets blend rhythms from the Latin American diaspora that create a vibrant and high-energy sonic experience. She has performed at venues like Razzmatazz, Sala Apolo, and Keep Hush, sharing the stage with artists such as Rosa Pistola, DJ Florentino, VHOOR, and Joy Orbison, solidifying her presence in the local scene.

Seeking to expand his creative identity, Julio César migrated from Mexico City to Barcelona in 2019 and launched his DJ career in early 2024, quickly becoming a fixture in Barcelona’s underground scene. He is the co-founder of the Club Expansivo collective, a resident DJ at Deprerreo, and a host and team member at Plasma Radio. His performances have taken him to cities like London, Berlin, Vancouver, Paris, and Mexico City, where he has played at some of the most influential underground Latin queer parties, including Latineo, 2CPerrea and Deprerreo.

Una aproximación al espacio sonoro de la Ciudad de México, en el cual confluyen sonidos diversos y bastante interesantes. Sin embargo, el oído citadino de alguna manera logra pasarlos por alto pues se ha acostumbrado a ellos.

Entre pensamientos obsesivos, intros de consolas, chimecos, herramientas utilizadas en obras de construcción y la superposición de canciones que son escuchadas en auriculares y las que el entorno sonoro arroja al deambular por la ciudad, se pretende hacer una exploración del ruido cotidiano para invitar a que el oído escuche atentamente a los sonidos citadinos cotidianos.
