As I held my grandmother's hand in the ICU, we said our goodbyes and she told me that she wanted a piece of mine to be the song played at her funeral. At around 1am on July 12th, I watched the greatest musician I have ever known slip away from me. You gave me the gift of music, and I just want you to know that none of this, not even my career would be possible without you.

I wrote this song the night after, for you.
