Techno producers and DJ's first and foremost, @subradeon find Soul at the heart of their work via their productions on labels like @rekids, Character, @motech-records, and Hardgroove. 

Although now based in Berlin, Subradeon began their career in their home city Naples. The Neapolitan twosome specializes in a brand of techno that combines the crunchy, full-throttle techno sounds of their native Italy with a soulful musicality that deftly draws on classic house and Motor City techno sounds. It's an ear-catching and entertaining formula that delivers more hits than misses.

In their consistently engaging DJ sets, the duo's strong bond and years of collaboration make for an enigmatic mix of layered Techno, House, Acapellas, and Samples mixed live, often using the classic six-turntable-two-mixer setup synonymous with back-to-back  DJ'ing.

Subradeon is a musical mission started more than fifteen years ago in southern Italy, well known as a territory rich in artistic and musical vanguards, with the intention to continue and be an active part of that message born in Detroit’s streets in the middle 80’s: “live the music” as a universal message, as the most important thing, as a cultural movement. One thing is clear, from the first listen one can appreciate their innovative ability, their creativity in mixing different styles, honouring the pure techno sound with the soul of Motown combined with elements that range from hip hop to jazz, from funk to soul.

Head Front Panel is an alias of John Heckle which focuses primarily on live techno. The record label of the same name, initially an anonymous series, has run from 2014 as a sub label of Tabernacle Records. HFP has since appeared on Perc Trax, Pushmaster Discs and Beardman. HFP live has toured since late 2014, after debuting at Tresor Berlin.’

To some the notion that Edinburgh houses one of the most influential techno artists of our generation might sound like a bold claim. These people have clearly never heard of Rolando aka Rolando Rocha aka The Aztec Mystic, we could go on and on but Roland is the real deal. An integral part of Techno activists Underground Resistance Rolando is a bona fide Detroit OG and given he done his own thing when UR were at the height of their powers shows a true sense of self and mega set of morals.

What was Detroit’s loss is most definitely Scotland’s gain and this mix is just one of the many reasons why…
