Worker of a moist but textured industrial techno, ABSL walks us through the BPM. He makes a point of ensuring that both his lives and productions exude a breathless, bubbling narrative. Crazy sound design technician, his abyssal and spatialized sounds are the subject of a meticulousness - bordering on insanity. Finally, his quest for an unusual sound brings him closer to artists such as Blawan, Aphex Twin and even Rrose, in his psycho-acoustic approach.

Although he has started to heat us up seriously in recent years, ABSL discovers music when his brother introduces him to what a drum machine is. Mystical initiation, onanic exploration, it’s not easy to qualify this revelation imbued with serendipity. From Nantes, his heartland, he explores, feels, auscultates, palpates the sound. After fortuitous encounters, he embarked for Paris where many adventures awaited him: he released his first EP in 2016 on the label "South London Analogue Material". He has since made exhilarating outings noted as “K” on Blocaus Series or « Le Perçant Arcus » on RAW. In 2019, it was on "Mama Told Ya", along with Anetha, that he released the feverish EP "Don’t rush to grow up".

Ardent sidekick of the queer community, he is also a resident of the burning MYST parties and comes out in fall 2020 with the hot "Chaines et Dénuement", released on the said label.

We are very excited to present the 61st episode featuring an assortment of pounding grooves and intertwined old-school, 4x4 weapons from another member of the re:flect crew, Cutepartynurse!

"After roaming around on the dance floor for a while, I became more and more interested in dj'ing. I experienced many crazy moments in clubs when the DJ managed to drive the crowd crazy. Chasing and creating those moments is my passion, and even thinking of that gives me goosebumps. For this mix, I paid close attention to the track selection. Many tracks have vocals in them, and blending high-energy grooves with old-school sounds was also quite challenging. After preparing the playlist, I only recorded the mix once. It's not flawless, but very authentic. I hope you like it.

I'm also part of re:flect, a multidisciplinary music, art, and event collective based in Berlin. We launched the project in June after six months of preparation. We aim to counteract the strict separation of different artistic disciplines by breaking down any boundaries. We are open to collaboration. Currently, we are planning our first event. @whatmeansrovin is an upcoming techno DJ from Munich who now lives in Berlin. After discovering his passion for fast, repetitive kick drums in local clubs like "Rote Sonne" and "MMA", he moved to Berlin to develop his own DJ style. His sets aim to illustrate his personal take on techno music, which at its core is always fast and groovy with elements of late 90s techno. These hardgroove attacks become very visible in this mix for the radar series. 
With his sets he tries to transfer this energy to the people in the club and create chaos on the dance floor. Although many of the elements that characterize his style remain the same, constant change is an important factor for him, so that no set sounds like the other one. Much of his inspiration for his creative work derives from countless hours on the dance floor listening to other artist's tracks and their mixing.
One of his key moments was when he fulfilled a dream and bought his beloved Xone 92, which gave him even more space and opportunities for creativity in mixing. Besides creating a mesmerising atmoshphere through his sets and on the dancefloor he started producing, too. 
Nevertheless „beeing happy with what I love – djing and making music“ plays an essential role in his life.
@levzonmusic, @baugruppe90, @nobelcortex and @anterist1 are artists according to him we should definitely keep an eye on.

Having grown up in the Dublin area, he decided to make the move to Berlin where he found himself in a much less limiting electronic music environment. Since then he has been carving his name into scene here playing regularly both in Berlin and beyond.

Our boy delivers just over an hour and a half of hard groove, hard techno and everything in between. Powerful stuff from the Irishman.

Maturity is a word often used to put an adjective onto a persons age. A simple way to add life to what is only a harsh number. Yet it feels only appropriate to describe the music of [Selected]-founder Frederic.exactly this way. Mature.
Raised in Berlin, the city’s musical landscape grabbed hold of him from a very young age. This ripened into a fully grown love for Techno and electronic music and led to him beginning to make music himself. But as a lot of people know, in this concrete sea it can be difficult to get your head above water. This was no deterrent for Frederic. however, it was more of a motivation. The solution was the foundation of what would be known as [Selected]. The party series at the now defunct Arena Club would grow from simply being a stage for a group of friends, wanting to cut their teeth on the wheels of steel, to a household name known for a specific type of groovy, old-school sound that Berlin’s Ravers were clearly thirsting for. 
And nothing stood more for this sound than the closing sets that saw Frederic. share the Decks with his friend and labelmate Gutter.
This friendship would grow into what is now known as the collab project TRQ-30, where Frederic and Gutter create the sort of sound together that they developed. Over their steadily growing back-catalogue, punching kickdrums & bouncing 909-hihats meet the sort of soaring pads & chords that would make a Detroit native jump with joy. Pair all that with occasional nods to 90s Acid and you arrive again at concluding their sound in one word : mature. More than a lot of today’s Techno is.
With the growing name of [Selected] the logical next step was to turn it from being only a party series into a label project.Providing, once again, a platform for young, upcoming and incredibly talented artists. Be it old friends, or new accomplices, the label shows a growing roster and a hunger to bring the next generation of techno into the scene.
