This is a collection of my personal favorite tracks I've made over the last 6-8 months that contains 23 original tunes. I'm extremely excited to present this year's mix composed of IDs I've been rinsing, brand new tunes, and collabs with some homies. Originally this bad boy was going to be a significantly shorter, but I ended up just throwing all of the tracks I enjoyed into it. If you stick around until the end you might even hear some garage/breaks type shit. Thank you all for the continued support throughout 2024 and into 2025, this whole music thing has gone much further than I could have imagined already and I can't wait to see what 2025 has in store.

With the new year comes a slew of new beginnings, and for Josh Kipersztok and David Westbom, that means unveiling the start of their new co-produced GUNK project. Josh is near and dear to us here at The Rust under his Smigonaut moniker, and David’s reputation precedes him as the mind behind Asteroids and Earthquakes, so it should come as no surprise that we’re incredibly excited to host the premier of their first minted EP for our 92nd release. Combining their creative talents to explore a frenetic new direction, the fruits of their efforts are bared full in Now That’s What I Call GUNK.

Brolic, energetic, and brackish where it counts, Now That’s What I Call GUNK is injection-molded for the dancefloor. Meaty bass lines meet dense, percussive breakdowns for a vibe that punches above its weight class. Searing synthesis takes the spotlight for the EP, with every track tearing through the mudpie of patches on the ingredient list. It’s an engaging and fresh take on upbeat Neuro Hop, bringing sound design back into vogue through bodacious groove and production finesse. Minneapolis based musician and producer Conduit (Sam Rivkin) started this project in 2013 after getting into electronic music production making the beats for psychedelic hip hop duo Alien Brain Food. Ranging from heavy uptempo with a progressive rhythm influence to lush ethereal downtempo, Conduit has a focus on creating a full spectrum of soundscapes and sound design.
