“Confused Machines” are excited to release an E.P by the composer and producer Ishai Adar (aka Oosh). Adar started his musical journey in the mid 80’s as the keyboard player of the legendary Israeli post-punk band “Nosei Hamigbaat”, together with his high school friend Ohad Fishof.
After his withdrawal from the band, he released “Her”: An innovative, experimental, electronic dance album, rare in the Israeli music scene of the late 90’s. In this album, he fused 80’s synth-pop influences (“Depeche Mode”, etc.) with a cutting edge techno sound, which still sounds up to date. This album influenced the local underground electronic music scene of the late 90’s.

Following the album “Her”, Adar became a prominent composer and created soundtracks

for motion pictures such as: “Year Zero” (2004), Oscar-nominated “Beaufort” (2007), “A Film
Unfinished” (2010), “Bethlehem” (2013) and “Mr. Gaga” (2015).
In his current project “12”, Adar revisits the synth-pop sounds which shaped his musical

taste. He infuses profoundness and character to musical genres such as new-wave, Italo-
disco, Euro-pop and contemporary dance music forming – multi-layered, euphoric and romantic melodies.
A killer acid-techno remix of the track 12 by the legendary Rude 66 is included in the E.P.

“Shlom Hatzibur” - "Yanshuf al Anaf Gavoha"  a repress of a long lost new wave single along with edits by "The Models" and "Mule Driver".

"Shlom Hatzibur" (Hebrew for public safety), is a band formed by Yuval Banay and Oren Elazary, was active between 1984-1985. This was the year in which the band "Mashina" paused their activity. ("Mashina" was established in 1983 - and is considered by many ones of the most influential rock bands in Israel). In 1984, they independently published two singles, one of which was "Yanshuf al Anaf Gavoha".

"Yanshuf al Anaf Gavoha" (Owl on a High Branch) represents a rare moment in Israeli musical history and culture: a moment of disillusionment and expression of personal voice, contemporary sound, and rhythm which stood out during a turbulent political period.

During the First Lebanon War, in the 80s, a generation of young people traveled on the weekends from the battlefields of southern Lebanon and flocked to the rising nightclubs in Tel Aviv. From army discipline to individual freedom, from the threat of death to the city's vibrancy. It is a song of adolescence in a divided and alienated society, and its reissue is more relevant than ever.

The song mixes industrial rhythm with Post-Punk, Rock, and Ska. The unusual musical production and the use of a drum machine were influenced prominently by the musical soundtrack played in Tel Aviv's record shops and alternative nightclubs (eg, "Fuzz", "Penguin").

Mule Driver returns with Headspace Kleptomaniac - a heavy bass driven EP layered with cinematic soundscapes topping 808 beats. Featuring a variation on Dies Irae Psichedelico - theme from the late 60’s film Escalate - originally composed by Ennio Morricone.
 
This EP is a part of mule driver’s long run 808 and 303 day tradition - celebrating the machines with new tracks.

Mule Driver - Headspace Kleptomaniac [CM13]

This compilation brings together a variety of approaches of EnDM (electronic non dance music), ranging from ambient, drones, to synthesizer music and even a glimpse of world-music-like sounds.

This is an opportunity for some featuring artists to express a different side of their musical output, while others are exploring these realms more frequently.

Disused Machines is a sub label of Confused Machines, focusing on the playful, experimental, obscure and far out sides of modern electronic music.

The compilation is coming out during a global strange time - the pandemic, global police brutality, black lives matter - and locally for us at Confused Machines home land - a rising wave of protests against a corrupt and collapsing democracy regime and our ongoing struggle against occupation. We wouldn’t like to take the focus away from those important matters, but wish to offer a time-out, and maybe, while exploring new sonic scapes, an option to review these issues from a different angle.

Various Artists - Disused Machines Vol. 1 [DM04]

Ason Teva (Hebrew for "natural disaster") is a new project by Tel Aviv-based producer Assaf Bloom, previously active within the duo “Plazmot”. From a musician who’s always sought out the points of interaction between popular and experimental forms, “Bypass” EP demonstrates his ability to find expression in both retroesque and abstract electronics, utilizing condensed structures alongside leftfield excursions. 
The opening track, “Al Aqsa Elektro" revolves around a dreamy Drexciyan melody, against an array of 80’s-Funk-inspired synths and a stripped-down electro beat. “Chromajen” continues to explore electro territories, while taking a much rougher attitude, incorporating a driving bassline with elements of noise and minimal-wave. Departing out of club domain, “Aufzugführer” is a short meditation of feedback and resonance, an interlude leading into obscurity. “Coriander House” illustrates a murky web of rhythms and samples. The ending title track is an ambient-techno contemplation of relentless percussion and immersive oscillations.
