my music taste is hugely influenced by my parents — the jazz, heavily from my dad & the tradition, obviously from my mom. these are some compositions that not only sample but make so much reference to her favourite songs:)

inspired by an extract from a spoken word piece by Sio, “unmet” — this body of work is a glimpse into my ambiguities in love. “WE FALL IN LOVE… AS THESE INCOMPLETE BEINGS” is a sonic, visual & aesthetic collaboration between me & some of my favourite creatives in translating my thoughts, experiences & feelings towards (navigating) love, as a young adult.

from a love that’s unrequited, a love that’s mutually felt, a love that induces emotional turmoil — rage & jealousy to a love that gives one sleepless nights, tossing & turning, typing in love languages… 

all, whilst actively, neglecting the important layer & expression of love — self love, one that heals, one that’s consistent & one that completes…

koi no yokan (of japanese origin) is an expression, oftentimes used to articulate a feeling that’s induced when you meet someone for the first time and you know you will fall in love (with them).

the song manifested itself as that - taking twists & turns through sounds that wouldn’t necessarily “make a good fit” on a normal day. the foleys (randomly) used are testament to that.

[kimetsu.] is a South African sonic and visual artist whose work transcends easy categorization.
