But all there will ever be...is what's happening here. 

So many of us choose our paths out of fear disguised as practicality.
What we really want seems impossibly out of reach and RIDICULOUS to expect so we never dare to ask the universe for it.

YOU CAN ASK THE UNIVERSE FOR IT!!

The decisions we make in this moment
Are based in either love or fear

As far as I can tell, it's just about letting the universe know what you want and working toward it, while letting go of how it comes to pass.

And just...making a CONSCIOUS choice to perceive challenges as something BENEFICIAL so that I can deal with them in the most productive way...

You'll come up with your own style...that's part of the fun

Like many of you...I was concerned about going out into the world and doing something bigger than myself.

Until someone smarter than myself  made me realize, that there is NOTHING bigger than myself!

My father could have been a great comedian...
But he didn't believe that was possible for him
And so he made a conservative choice...
Instead....he got a safe job as an accountant.  

When I was twelve years old, he was let go from that safe job
And our family had to do whatever we had to do to survive

I learned many great things from my father
Not the least of which, is that you can fail at what you don't want
So you might as well take a chance on doing what you LOVE!!

THE EFFECT YOU HAVE ON OTHERS IS THE MOST VALUABLE CURRENCY THERE IS!!

A little story about this music....And how it came to be....

I recorded this set several months ago. It felt absolutely PERFECT at the time - the very best that I could do! After hundreds of hours of practice, it was...simply...as good as I could do. At that time.

Yet, I did not post this set....or share it with you.

Because I didn't feel it was "good" enough.
It didn't really "represent" me. Or my ability.

Well - guess what. Those thoughts of "not good enough" and "not representing me" were all just manifestations of my ego.

So NOW, I HONOR myself...MY SPIRIT....my hundreds of hours of practice...and my devotion to PROGRESS by sharing this set...and all of its imperfections...with you.

As you listen, please just know that this set has my HEART in it. I'm crying as I write this.

Because although I feel it's "not good enough," it's simply the best I can do.

In closing, I share this set with you... And I allow myself to be vulnerable...so that you will have the opportunity to see that even when we feel "not good enough," we can still open our hearts and share our lives with others - because we are ALL worthy of love.

Progress NOT Perfection

This....is the start of a storytelling podcast that is intended to help people who are struggling to see that it is possible to transform their lives.  The second podcast in the series is about how I used to get teased at school because I had an afro: The transformational message is that "One Day You'll Be Beautiful."

At first I want to share my personal experiences then later start including YOUR stories.

It's definitely in development. I've sent it to a few of my closest friends and musicians and they are giving such honest, powerful feedback - for this I am grateful!

Of all the things I've worked on I think this is what I feel most connected to. I want to make this podcast GREAT.

Water Blessing by Katie Conga, Jule Ka & Petra Rakić: Hands down one of my most beautiful nights in Berlin, and one of the most beautiful sets I've ever played. Nothing better than three girl friends getting together and recording some beauty together.

Katie Conga is a revolutionary Producer and DJ, known for her commitment to promote peace, PROGRESS and evolution through the magical medium of music.  

Born in the Chicago Underground then continuing to the Conscious Communities of Miami, native influences are the binding element of Conga's mixes. 

Her commitment is to heal communities by building bridges where there were previously none. 

She is currently experimenting with a plethora of talented artists throughout the Miami region and chooses to work with momentous leaders who are committed to their craft.

In addition to her local collaborations, Katie works remotely with artists from Berlin, utilizing their global insights and perspectives to bring a more international viewpoint to the local Miami region. 

Katie is committed to demonstrating the power of every person to persevere.

Her promise is to bring people of diverse backgrounds into one common space, because if we can dance together, then we can heal together.
