"Quicksand" is another single off of our upcoming debut album: "Not Quite Hindsight," and right away you can tell that this EP is going to have a LOT of different influences and sounds to it. 
Backed by an old school, sort of early 90's softer hip-hop rhythmic beat; Quicksand comes in with a beautiful Acoustic Guitar riff from Greg, accompanies by the Keys. The Violin joins the other three instruments shortly after; playing a soothing back and forth melody. 
This was the very first original song that Joey and Greg had ever created; and Joey knew exactly what he wanted to write about after Greg played the guitar riff for him. It's about a man trying to fit in, and "be ok," as he begins to struggle with a power much greater than himself; which are the substances and ego that he has become reliant upon. The lyrics chronicle the back and forth that goes on within his own mind throughout this process; and how haunting it can be at times.
Noah Wall offers beautifully harmonic female vocals for this track that counter Joey really nicely.
