A Friend of Marcus made an impressive launch on the scene in 2017 with his debut track 'She who Annihilates' featured on Henry Saiz’s Balance presents Natura Sonoris compilation; many calling it a stand out track. Released on NS again in March 2018 with a Petar Dundov remix, it saw support from Sasha, Henry Saiz, Hernan Cattaneo, Guy Mantzur, Eagles & Butterflies & more. 

His second release - a remix of Depaart’s “Blowing Smoke” came out on Sasha’s famous Last Night on Earth with support from Sasha, John Digweed, Guy J, Joris Voorn, Tiefschwarz, Fideles and many more. Then came “The Distant Water Beyond” on Booka Shade’s Blaufield, getting plays from Joseph Capriati, Lane 8, John Digweed, Paco Osuna, Nick Warren, Hernan Cattaneo and more.   November 2019 saw “Multiple Rays” as his second compilation listing, this time with Balance presents Vivrant with Jeremy Olander, featuring at the peak of the highly acclaimed double disc journey. Support from John Digweed, Henry Saiz, Eelke Kleijn, Nick Warren and more. His most recent release “Suspension Point”, his second release on Natura Sonoris came out March 2020 with two originals - “Ellipsis” and “Falling Short” - along with a killer techno remix from Blacktik.

As a DJ, A.F.O.M picked up a residency for Balance music’s global events, playing in Jakarta, Singapore and Noumea with Scuba, Apparat and Guy Mantzur. He’s also supported the likes of Solomun, Dixon and Guy Gerber in Melbourne, Shanghai & Mar del Plata along with playing the mighty Epizode Festival in Vietnam and legendary D-Edge in Sao Paulo. He’s performed in Asia at VENT and Womb in Tokyo, Iron Fairies in KL and Celia in Shanghai, as well as supporting Jamie Jones for two shows in Melbourne with Untitled Group including the infamous Wool Store. He is set to make his debut for Tronic in the next Ibiza season, and has upcoming shows at Vision in Tokyo along with a tour of India. His “I am not only colour” mixes continue to receive a ton of love online and his music and guest mixes have featured on Radio 3, John Digweed’s Transitions, Triple J Mix Up, Decoded Magazine, Proton Radio and more. 

A Friend of Marcus sets are full of exclusive tracks, unreleased edits and upfront promos along with his own works. The dedication to his art is evident in every set; each paced, structured and with a purpose. Always searching for new and unique sounds, his rich tapestry of grinding beats, spacey techno and mechanical bliss is subtly transformed into one sculptured journey of deep grooves and contagious energy.

"I start the set with a beautiful intro, an intriguing conversation about dreams and reality, which is inviting the listeners to a lucid journey of soundscapes. It’s a deep, dark, and emotive set that picks up some heat and tempo halfway through where I also included my new track ‘Juno’, coming soon on Stil Vor Talent’s special anniversary compilation. For the first time I used my own voice in a track, and I feel it evokes the mood I wanted to create with this podcast too. I picked tracks that I really find interesting and thought-provoking, tracks with depth and an edge to them. At the end, the energy is slowly brought down where I close the session with the same conversation I started it with, reminding the listener that this past hour was maybe a simulation or another life… I hope the music I picked and mixed evokes curiosity for different states of consciousness and makes the listener wonder about what turns our super similar bio-chemical machines into conscious beings. Before you the first release of our magical time together at The Monastery. The honour to kick off the new series on our SoundCloud is going to one of our all time favourite beings, Gabriel Belmudes.. 

Our friendship goes back to the early months of The Gardens of Babylon, when he got introduced to us by Rico Savan also known as SAVVAN. We have been close ever since and could not embark this festival adventure without him.

We initially booked him for The Odd Ones Out Stage, but the universe had a different plan for him and rightly so. We were in need of a strong sound at The Dark Side during the same set times as Satori. A task perfect for Gabriel. 

It was a beautiful set received by a beautiful crowd.

Er dreht sich noch ein letztes Mal um und wirft einen kurzen Blick auf seinen atemberaubenden blauen Heimatplaneten, bevor er in das endlose Schwarz eintaucht. Sein großer Erfahrungsschatz wird ihn auch sicher durch dieses Abenteuer bringen und ganz bestimmt sieht er diese einmalige Welt bald wieder. Doch jetzt zählt erst mal nur was vor ihm liegt. Ganz allein macht er sich auf ins Weltall auf die Suche nach der Lösung der Weltformel, nachdem er jahrelang in der Enge seines Büros mit Hilfe seines Verstandes und einer weißen Tafel nicht vorangekommen war. Zumindest hat ihm sein brillanter Verstand in die Lage versetzt ein Spaceshuttle kapern zu können. Ein Ereignis was Kriminologen wohl noch Jahrzehnte beschäftigen wird und ihm zum ersten Weltraumpiraten der Geschichte macht. Ob in diesem Fall der Zweck die Mittel heiligt? Immerhin geht es hier um den bedeutendsten wissenschaftlichen Durchbruch seit der Relativitätstheorie!

Nun befindet er sich also draußen im Universum auf einer Reise in weit entfernte Galaxien. Aber wo soll er nur anfangen zu suchen. Vielleicht würde der Besuch eines schwarzen Lochs bahnbrechende Erkenntnisse bringen. Oder sollte er vielleicht erdähnliche Planeten aufsuchen, um Kontakt zu anderen Lebensformen aufnehmen zu können. Diese könnte vielleicht wertvolles Wissen weitergeben. Er entschied, dass die Suche nach hochentwickelten Leben Priorität hat. Welchen Planeten sollte er nur ansteuern, um Intelligenz zu finden? Er hatte mal von einem entfernten Sonnensystem gehört, dass einen Planeten beheimatete der auf den Namen 0034 Technologie P01 getauft wurde. Auf diesen Techno Planeten soll seine Suche beginnen...  

Nun aber zu unserem heutigen Gast, der spätestens seit seinen Auftritt auf der letzten Fusion ein fester Bestandteil der Szene ist und die Clubs der Hautstadt unsicher macht. Dabei erzählt der Weltraumwanderer gern Geschichten von seinen Reisen zu weit entfernten Planeten und kreiert auf seinen hypnotisierenden Sessions seinen ganz eigenen „spacetech“ Sound. Betretet nun also zusammen mit Cpt. Barnabass das Raumschiff, welches euch durch wilde Landschaften zum gesuchten Planeten navigiert.
