French rising talent MOOD GORNING is back on Family Piknik Music with two big shots. Mental deep-house infused with ethnic inspirations. 'Txiki Pastela' takes us straight to "Pays Basque" with Nyna Loren's mystic voice, while ‘Studio Zero’ is the perfect follow up to Mood Gorning’s first big success on Family Piknik Music (‘Eyes of Vali’), offering this subtle balance between deep-house and minimal techno, always spiced up with that typical ethic flavors.

This EP is delivered with 2 remixes by Family Piknik Music's master minds TOM POOKS & JOY KITIKONTI + Ukrainian newcomers OFF NIGHT. Coming from Kiev, OFF NIGHT reworks ‘Txiki Pastela’ with a great sense of Melodic Techno. With their first release supported by the legendary Pete Tong on his BBC Radio 1 show, Off Night is a name to watch out, often invited to play along with Tale of Us, Adriatique and many other A-list DJs in their country. On their side, Tom & Joy goes into a faster Progressive trip, adding new hypnotic elements to ‘Studio Zero’ that will hit the dancefloors with the right energy.

About the artist:
After many years practicing piano, guitar, clarinet and drums, Mood Gorning has fallen in love with deejaying in 2013. Endorsed as one of the main resident DJs for prestigious French resort La Folie Douce high in the mountains (French Alps), he then started hanging up in the studio along with his best friends, Albanø & Pontias, both coming from the same old good Saint-Etienne city. Searching for the right emotions to inject in his dancing music, he’s now emerging from the underground scene as one of the main members from French famous festival’s Family Piknik crew. Back in 2019, he released his first solo EP ‘Eyes of Vali’ on the label, gaining pretty much attention from influent playlist curators. With a remarkable deep ethnic House vibe, he managed to seduce many A-list DJs, as well as a few other influent labels such as Desert Heart, Omeni, Dear Deer Music, Time Has Changed, Visile, Bosom and Monada Project… Lately remixed by Abstraal on Omeni, he jumped into John Digweed’s playlist and kept on developing his singular musical approach. On November 2021, he’s back on Family Piknik Music with a new stellar EP consisting of two original tracks composed with the help of singer Nyna Loren. Remixed by fast rising ukrainian duo Off Night and Family Piknik head honchos Tom Pooks & Joy Kitikontii, his ‘Txiki Pastela EP’ is already supported by Danny Tenaglia, Laurent Garner, Hernan Cattaneo, Sasha, Bog, Blond:ish, Phonique, Dave Seaman and many international artists… Just press play and dive into one of the most exciting Deep House new acts from France.

Wings was inspired by the nostalgia for those "angels" who have passed through our lives, the name refers to the dear ones who are gone. The song tells a story of ups and downs, of homesickness and acceptance. Where the strong percussion contextualizes a little these hardest moments of nostalgia and the melody refers to good memories, bringing the lightness and joy of reliving the moments. It's a track full of emotions, perfect for closing your eyes, opening your arms and letting the music flow through your body. For the remix, Ella De Vuono accelerated the BPM and created all the drums with the 909, to give it a more old school sound, the idea was to make a classic house but with unusual timbres, referring to both progressive and tribal vibes. The two tracks have been tested since the return of the dance floors in Brazil and the audience has already approved with a lot of dancing, screams and hands up in the air.

Paramnésie EP is the result of one year of experimental Techno. It was, at first, a unique 1-hour story track. It has been then divided into 4 chapters that try to deal with the doubts and questions of a human mind about time and eternity.
After a monotonous minimalist introduction, the effervescence is unleashed : the myriad of melodic variations that follows represents storms of questions, and the instability of our beliefs. Bridges ask. Kicks answer. Bridges propose. Kicks decide.
The last chapter ends with the positive chords of the story. A glimpse of hope. But the feeling stays ambivalent. And the very last chord is still a question, unresolved.
To finish this release, MAX TENROM takes his universe in the "Paramnésie III Remix". Keeps the energy of the synth and adds softness with a magical pad. Not to mention the arrival of a deep and fat bass, who gives another dimension to this track.
