This edit has been supported by the likes of Aera, Santiago Garcia, among others and it has become one of the most desired tracks posted on our page during the last months. We continue with the E P I S O D E S mix series and the second mix of the year is from none other than Elfenberg. I got to know Viktor from Elfenberg many years ago when I booked them as a duo for one of my parties. I had been a fan for a couple of years before I knew they were actually Swedish. Like so many others, I had heard their remix on "Sinere" by rBert and had seen them release songs on Stil Vor Talent. When I dug deeper, I realized that they were Swedes. Since then I have booked them many times and played together with them at the same parties. There are few acts, DJs and producers from Stockholm that I respect as much as Elfenberg. The sound they have delivered is always pushing forward and developing. 

Now the duo has become a solo act where Viktor Elfqvist stands alone as Elfenberg and it is from him that our second EPISODES mix comes. The mix feels like a modern interpretation of techno, house and acid from the 90s. The mix has bits in it reminiscent of songs from legends like Orbital, The Orb and Underworld. It is beautiful and dreamy but at the same time hard with a clear drive forward. It mixes sounds from the old and the new with songs and breaks perfect for sunrise sets at a forest rave or industrial basement parties. It feels new and fresh for a modern era that salutes the past. I'm in love with this mix and look forward to more parties with Viktor aka Elfenberg on the line up. Thank you my friend for this amazing mix. You are an alien among ordinary humans and i am very excited to follow you on your new solo journey.

"'Psycho-Acoustic Principles For The Dancefloor' is a record emancipated from the overload of information that led me spiralling into a schizophrenic over-thinking lately in my music. 'Outsider' has a pureness of confidence which celebrates the last 10 years of isolation away from the European scene, while contained just under its surface is a sense of melancholy which points to the paradox within myself. I believe effective dance- music plays with these human paradoxes, and in a time when the mask of confidence is amplified and commodified, music should tease out the human truth. I hope this record captures something essential which goes beyond the structural. If possible, I hope that it breaks down barriers and preconceptions as it delivers roses and intimacy into a place which allows the spirit to sing."

More About Frivolous :
From the wilds of British Columbia to the beating heart of Berlin and back again, Daniel Gardner’s journey through music has been all his own. To call his style idiosyncratic would be a disservice, for his is a sound that feeds off the world outside his studio as much as it comes from within.
Through his formative years discovering music in a remote location detached from the ebb and flow of cultural movements, Frivolous took shape as a distinct proposition inspired by the European minimal explosion but defined by bold strokes of playful ingenuity, both in his sound sources and the way in which he deployed them. This first came to light on Andy Vaz’s celebrated Background imprint; a label as concerned with funk and imagination as it was with glitchy production ethics. Likewise appearances on Karloff and Proptronix gave the perfect platform for Frivolous to indulge in his love of irreverent sampling and heart-wrenching melodies, as dizzying arrangements of found sounds and dusty rips filtered fed into a tonic that was equal parts humour and emotion., not to mention eminently danceable.
  
As his confidence grew and steady European bookings gave him the chance to focus ever more on his craft, Frivolous’ own voice started to creep into the tracks, while his home made instruments became a key talking point in a scene that was becoming riddled with characterless laptop botherers. Out of this phase of his career came the Midnight Black Indulgence LP on ~scape, an album steeped in warm tones and oddball pop while still rooted to the fundamentals of house. The stylistic progression from here to 2011’s Meteorology was a smooth one, even as the graduation to Luciano’s techno empire Cadenza marked a serious ramp up in exposure and time on the road for the boy from BC. In a swell of widespread acclaim Frivolous took his live show far and wide for a good two years, living something of a vagabond existence while based around various parts of Europe.
After that rollercoaster, a decade spent in his native BC provided the necessary decompression before returning once more to Europe in 2022. Now having completed an MA in Music, Daniel Gardner aka Frivolous is once again calling Berlin home as a stream of fresh material reflects a new perspective both musical and experiential. While there may be no clues as to what comes next, the notion is reinforced that he will always do things his own way, and the results will always sound unmistakably like Frivolous."

Parra, nome artístico de Aline Parra, é uma DJ de 23 anos, que reside em Porto Alegre/RS. Ao longo de seus anos foi se descobrindo como artista, focando na música eletrônica, vindo a descobrir sua verdadeira paixão de se tornar uma DJ e produtora musical, atuando na profissão desde 2018. 
Começou a escutar música e a sonhar com as melodias desde pequena. Queria que sua paixão e energia fossem compartilhadas, levando aquilo que sentia para outras pessoas. Focando nas batidas eletrônicas produzidas pelos CDJs e sintetizadores, começou a conhecer mais a mecânica, vindo a se aprofundar no techno e indie dance. A artista começou a adquirir mais conhecimento do gênero nas festas que frequentava desde seus 18 anos. Teve sua primeira experiência como DJ no ano de 2018. Uma noite com o mais obscuro Techno ou um dia ensolarado à beira de uma piscina com um relaxante House, Golden Kong leva a ideia de música para pista a outros patamares, explorando diversos gêneros do Neo Rave ao Lo-fi House e Baile Funk.

Nascido em São Paulo capital, o artista já fez parte de projetos como Arcade Fighters, duo que trabalhou ao lado de S.lva, além de ter co-fundado o coletivo Solta, selo focado em produtores brasileiros. Atualmente Golden Kong reside em Nova York onde faz parte do coletivo de DJs Foreign Posse e Club Scream, ambos promovendo festas itinerantes por toda a cidade.

Em sua carreira como produtor já teve lançamentos em selos como Wile Out, Thunderstone Labs entre outros, já como DJ já se apresentou em grandes casas como D.Edge em São Paulo e Elsewhere em Nova York sem contar na participação na rádio Rinse France e set lançado pela Vice.
