Berlin-based duo Mistake Made first appeared in 2014 with their debut release on Vault Series. Since then, they have contributed a hand full of EPs, remixes, and compilation tracks to the label’s discography as well as its sub-label Lost Gems. 

In early 2020 they started their own label Ebene, and in 2021 the pair dropped a breaks-infused track on Second States’ ‘Sum’ compilation. Their tracks have found their way into the sets of artists like DVS1, Monoloc, Ilario Alicante, Rødhåd, Boris, Ø [Phase], and DJ Hyperactive.

Now, the duo presents their 'Phototropic' EP, which will be containing 4 spine-tingling cuts on the revered Second State imprint. The track “Rayo” kicks off the EP with serious energy, bouncy kicks, and wonky synth distortion. The mood shifts as the intensity grows, and the track transforms into something more ominous, urging listeners to pick up the pace.

Jon Hester returns to Radio Slave’s Rekids Special Projects with a thundering four-track techno EP.

Previously appearing on Rekids with his two-part ‘Converge’ album released across 2020 and 2021 after multiple EPs on Rekids Special Projects, Jon Hester now readies his next release, ‘Action EP’. A no-holds-barred presentation of the Berlin-based DJ/producer’s latest upfront techno, the release shows Hester in fine form as he returns to the Rekids universe.

Leading the release, ‘Scrape’ sees densely reverberated hits spar with pumping kicks and rattling percussion, leading into the trippy metallic synths, textured claps, and sparse pads of ‘Blinker’. ‘Sirens’ ignites the dance floor with a cacophony of sirens and drum machines taking the lead, before ‘Arise’ rounds out the release with wonky low-end, FX-laden hits and vocal gasps.

In addition to the original by @truncate, ‘Work Ya Ass’ also hosts a powerful edit from legendary techno lynchpin @ben-sims, as well as an electro remix from two exciting new names in the scene, Manao and Elektor. 

Truncate’s ‘Work Ya Ass’ establishes itself with robust drums and an earworm vocal sample, while swinging rhythmical synths shoot through the track throughout. Sims, no stranger to finding the funk in machines, breaks out the filters, stomping kick/clap combos and piercing stabs to create a raucous version while Venezuelan artists Manao and Elektor flip the track into a bass-driven electro weapon.

Radio Slave announces Part 2 of Rekids Special Projects ‘Actualize’ compilation.

Rekids Special Projects, the no-nonsense techno-focussed sub-label of Radio Slave, aka Matt Edwards’ Rekids, launched in 2017 and has since released music from the likes of Mark Broom, Luke Hess, Jon Hester, and more. For the 50th release, Edwards readies ‘Actualize’, bringing acts from the wider Rekids universe into one slick collection, with the second part arriving this February alongside a DJ mix of the tracks. 

“I had no idea how big this project would become when I started planning the ‘Actualize’ compilation back in October. With 28 tracks, I decided to split the comp into 2 parts, and it also gave me and some of the other artists featured here a chance to finish their tracks. I’m super happy with ‘Actualize’, and it’s a great honour to have guest artists such as Slam and Ian Pooley’s Silvershower project on RSPX.” - Radio Slave

Dutch techno icon @secretcinema teams up with rising producer @shaunmoses for a scorching two-track EP. Titled 'Neon Nebula', the EP features two tracks, each showcasing a different facet of the duo's sound. The title-track, "Neon Nebula", is a pulsating, hypnotic cut that builds tension with its intricate percussion and eerie synths. The track gradually intensifies, culminating in a euphoric climax that's sure to ignite dancefloors. The second track, 'Beat Da Dawn', is a brooding, bass-heavy number that's all about the groove. The track's relentless rhythm is punctuated by bursts of metallic percussion, while haunting pads and distorted vocal samples add a touch of darkness to the mix. "Dormancy" is a mesh machine-like tweaks and dramatic themes that may have been inert until Eddie Hales songcraft forces it to stagger and sway with the synthetic rhythm. 

The title track begins with breathy synths and builds up its momentum with the bouncing beat. Impulses is a dramatic dance floor track, fencing chords tangle with the rhythm that pulses constantly. Bustling and elastic sound of "Variant 1" evokes the body to move along its excitable groove. The tensile theme of "JU-6" never looses its cools with the stagger drums. 

Jon Hester's remix of "Dormancy" keeps the overall theme but adding an old school approach as the track builds up with creamy synths juxtaposed with the clangy percussion.
