Nick Devon is an Athens based DJ/producer whose involvement with electronic music has spanned more than two decades. His musical journey commenced at 16, when he started experimenting with toy pianos and pretty much anything that could produce notes. Before long he was playing his father’s vinyls and from here, quickly advanced to DJ-ing and producing.

Initially producing drum & bass as well as trance, he later transitioned his sound, gravitating more towards electronica and techno. Hence his ability to unite a plethora of elements and genres throughout his current productions. His dark trippy melodic sounds are distinctive, forged through a combination of digital, analogue and physical instruments sourced within in his own studio. This admirable skill has earned him much respect from numerous high profile artists worldwide. As a former vinyl DJ, Nick is also an avid record collector and to this day, spins plenty of old and new records. He enjoys embellishing his vinyl love by including them in his gigs and sets where ever possible.

It was 2010 when he officially launched his solo project and from this point forward, https://soundcloud.com/nick-devon started producing sounds and music that shook the dance floor, yet bestowed captivating melodies and emotional soundscapes, allowing people to create their own story within his productions.

Flow Sessions 088 - Soul Button

Era uma vez quatro viajantes que partiram em uma jornada por um universo desconhecido. Cada um em sua própria nave, seguindo rotas separadas, mas conectados por um mesmo destino. Eles não sabiam ao certo o que os aguardava, apenas que cada novo planeta traria descobertas e desafios que testariam sua coragem, sua curiosidade e sua capacidade de seguir adiante.

Entre eles, havia um viajante que nunca se considerou explorador. O desconhecido sempre lhe pareceu algo distante, mas, conforme avançava, percebeu que dentro de si crescia uma centelha de curiosidade. Não bastava apenas temer ou resistir; era preciso perguntar, observar, entender. Cada mistério desvendado alimentava uma nova vontade de saber mais, e, pouco a pouco, sua jornada se tornava também uma busca por compreender a si mesmo.

Ao seu lado, uma companheira de viagem. Suas formas de navegar pelo universo eram diferentes, às vezes conflitantes. Mas, com o tempo, ele aprendeu que nem toda rota precisa ser igual para alcançar um mesmo horizonte. E, assim, juntos ajustaram suas trajetórias, aprendendo a respeitar as diferenças e a encontrar harmonia entre as estrelas.

Quando o universo parecia ter mostrado tudo o que tinha a oferecer, os quatro viajantes se viram diante de um desafio final. Cada um, em sua jornada individual, havia tentado superá-lo sem sucesso. E então, como se o próprio cosmos tivesse traçado esse encontro, decidiram seguir juntos, enfrentando o desconhecido como um só.

O que encontraram além do último desafio não era apenas um desfecho, mas uma revelação. Não havia palavras para descrever a sensação, apenas o entendimento de que todas as emoções vividas – o medo, a coragem, a curiosidade, a sintonia – estavam agora entrelaçadas em um único sentimento. Algo que transcendia a aventura, que ia além do espaço e do tempo. Algo quase impossível de sentir, de explicar.

E assim, os quatro viajantes compreenderam que a maior descoberta não estava no fim da jornada, mas no que ela havia despertado dentro deles.

Artist Info:
Tel Aviv based Ran Salman is a Live Act, DJ and Producer. Influenced by a broad range of electronic music genres from house, deep house and techno to disco and world music, he created his very own style. Arrangements of spherical melodies and edgy elements, combined with oriental influences from his home country and various percussion, he is expressing his thoughts and emotions through analog synthesizers, drum machines, bass guitar and even his own voice.

Ran is also a live artist who builds and crafts his own unique instruments and performs with them in a new and exciting way. Over the years, Ran has gained great support from Solomun, Magdalena, Black Coffee, Agents of Time, Nick Warren, Hernan Cattaneo and many more. In 2014 Ran signed to the Berlin based label Steyoyoke, with his ‘Fractured Memories’ EP. Ever since, Ran Salman released under Steyoyoke / Steyoyoke Black label, Einmusika / EIN2, The Soundgarden and in 2018 he joined BOg’s imprint ‘ATLANT Recordings’ with his EP ‘Through The Woods’ which gained a lot of support in the Afro House scene, hitting the Beatport chart at #3 for a while. Currently Ran is working on building new instruments for his live shows and performing live acts and DJ sets around the world.

Having his hands full with running all 3 labels – @Steyoyoke, @Steyoyoke Black and @inner-symphony, Soul Button manages to perform around the globe and work on his releases. He has released several monumental EPs, “Play Again”, “Swift Minds”, “Wraith”, “Reverie” and “Metamorphosis”. The long awaited debut album, “Phantom Existence” was a milestone in his musical career.
