Edmund, AKA 34-year-old San Sebastian native Diego Villar Ibero, should need no introduction to househeads worldwide. Since 2005, he's turned out a string of consistently high-quality tracks and remixes for such respected labels as, Adaptation, Nulu, Loco Records, Deep Class, Seamless, Clubstar, , DeepWit, Daddy Funk, So Sound, and having future releases coming on Large Music, Salted Music..  Edmund's releases to date have covered a wide range of deep house styles, from the techy to the soulful – but with this his debut album, coming on the mighty i! Records, he demonstrates more versatility than ever before.

The album opens with 'I Got The Luv', a nu disco-influenced midtempo groover with handclaps and cowbells galore and a dreamy female vocal from Xane. 'Crazy Friday' ups the tempo a little and has the sultry, sensuous feel of classic New Jersey garage, and is followed by the first of several more downtempo offerings, the dusty, lo-fi funk-hop number that is 'Weekend Guest'. 'Deep Is All U Need' then takes us back to the deep house dancefloor with its incessant, chugging rhythm and floaty vocal samples, before 'C'Mon And Jazz' provides us with another lazy, late-night cut, but one with sufficient funk in its veins for it to work equally well on afterhours floors.

'I Wanna Know' is another jazz-flecked, sofa-surfing affair, while 'Slow Dancer' is fairly self-explanatory as Edmund gets down with his bad jazz-funk self! 'Jazz Essence', which follows, is a more glitchy kinda downtempo cut, while 'Twisted Soul' sees us back in club mode, with warm Rhodes and atmospheric pads sitting atop filtered beats. 'Love Da Records (Special Album Version)' is a floor-friendly deep houser with a spoken vocal that pays homage to the joys of the good ol' black vinyl, 'Feels Good' is another breaks-y downtempo number complete with scratching, and then finally the album comes to a close with 'When It Flows' itself, a soulfully-tinged deep house collab' with Pablo Fierro.

The quality is high throughout, and the programming of the album – with slower tracks interspersed among the club stompers, rather than the BPMs rising from start to finish – means that this is that rarest of treasures: a house album that actually SOUNDS like an album, not just a collection of tracks, and one that will repay repeated listening.
